Aromatherapy explained by a Naturopath

27/05/2021 Essential oils

Aromatherapy is a branch of herbal medicine. It is the use of essential oils for therapeutic purposes. The term “Aromatherapy” was created in 1928 by a French perfumer-chemist by the name of René-Maurice Gattefossé. When applied to the skin, essential oils pass through the pores of the skin and enter the blood capillaries. These guide them to the target organ. They can thus act in depth throughout the body. The Great Nettle, a vegetable from prehistoric times

10/09/2021 Medicinal plants and herbal medicine

Essential oil of Laurel Noble, Hermès plant

16/11/2021 Essential oils

This tree has been venerated since ancient times among the Greeks and Romans who adorned the head of their emperor with a laurel wreath . Dedicated to Apollo , it represents vitality, beauty and victory. A laurel berry wreath ( bacca laureati ) was also offered to young medical graduates, a tradition that would become the famous baccalaureate sanctioning the end of secondary studies. The leaves are appreciated as a flavoring in cooked dishes, hence its name of laurel-sauce. The oil obtained from the berries is used, along with olive oil and salicornia (vegetable soda), in the manufacture of Aleppo soap and gives it its “surgras” quality. It is the oldest soap, produced 3500 years ago....
