1. WHAT IS GINKOR FORT, capsule AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Pharmacotherapeutic class VASCULOPROTECTIVE - ATC code: (C: cardiovascular system).
This drug is recommended for disorders of venous circulation in the legs (heavy legs, pain, painful sensations known as "impatience" at bedtime... ) and in the treatment of symptoms associated with hemorrhoidal crisis.
2. WHAT DO I HAVE TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING GINKOR FORT, capsule?
Never take GINKOR FORT, capsule:
- Allergy (hypersensitivity to one of the components)
- Hyperthyroidism (thyroid dysfunction)
- Association with certain antidepressants: monoamine oxidase inhibitors or MAOIs (see Taking or using other medicines).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking GINKOR FORT, capsule.
Be careful with GINKOR FORT, capsule:
Special warnings
In a hemorrhoidal crisis, symptoms must subside rapidly.
If there is no improvement after 7 days, or if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor.
For venous circulation disorders, if discomfort and/or vessel fragility do not improve after one month's treatment, consult your doctor.
KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
Precautions for use
This treatment is most effective when combined with a healthy lifestyle: avoid exposure to sunlight, heat, prolonged standing and excess weight.
Prolonged walking and the wearing of suitable compression stockings promote venous circulation. Use WITH CAUTION in cases of severe arterial hypertension.
Due to the risk of increased bleeding with ginkgo-based preparations, discontinue use 3 to 4 days before surgery.
Given the vasoactive properties of heptaminol and the antiaggregant properties of ginkgo biloba, GINKOR FORT should not be used during pregnancy.
Concomitant use with efavirenz is not recommended.
If you have a predisposition to bleeding (hemorrhagic condition) and are taking anticoagulant or anti-platelet medication, ask your pharmacist or doctor before taking GINKOR FORT.

Efficacy and safety in children and adolescents have not been established. No data are available.
Other medicinal products and GINKOR FORT, capsule
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any other medicines.
Taking or using other medicines
TO AVOID INTERACTIONS BETWEEN MEDICATIONS, YOU MUST REPORT ANY OTHER CURRENT TREATMENT to your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you are taking antidepressants such as MAOIs, antidepressants such as ibuprofen, antidepressants such as ibuprofen or ibuprofen.such as MAOIs, anticoagulants (phenprocoumon, warfarin), anti-platelet drugs (clopidogrel, salicylic acid and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) TO YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST.
If you are taking this medicine at the same time as warfarin, please consult your doctor.
If you take dabigatran etexilate at the same time as this medicine, the effect of the latter may be potentiated.
The concomitant use of this medicine with efavirenz is not recommended, due to the risk of reducing the effect of the latter.
Ginkgo may increase the concentration of nifedipine. In some individuals, this increase may be significant, causing dizziness and an increase in the intensity of hot flushes.
GINKOR FORT, capsule with food, drink and alcohol

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
GINKOR FORT should not be used during pregnancy due to its vasoactive and antiaggregant properties. This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.
Driving and use of machinery
Not applicable.
GINKOR FORT, capsule contains magnesium stearate and anhydrous colloidal silica.
Athletes
Athletes should be aware that this product contains an active ingredient (heptaminol) which may produce a positive reaction in doping control tests.
3. HOW DO I TAKE GINKOR FORT, capsule?
Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
Dosage
The usual dosage varies according to the indication:
Venous circulation disorders: 2 capsules a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, for one to two months, depending on the severity of symptoms.
Hemorrhoidal crisis: 3 to 4 capsules per day, for 7 days, divided between meals.
Method and route of administration
Take orally.
Frequency of administration
Take with meals.
Duration of treatment
For venous circulation disorders, treatment generally lasts one to two months. If discomfort and/or vessel fragility do not improve after one month's treatment, consult your doctor. (See Caution with GINKOR FORT, capsule).
In haemorrhoidal crisis, do not exceed 7 days' treatment (see Take care with GINKOR FORT, capsule).
Use in children and adolescents
Efficacy and safety in children and adolescents have not been established. No data are available.

4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Like all medicines, GINKOR FORT may cause undesirable effects, but these do not always occur in everyone.
Very rarely: severe allergic reactions, angioedema, stomach ache, digestive disorders (nausea or diarrhoea), headache, skin disorders (itching, urticaria, eczema-like rash), hypertension.
If you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, or if any side effects become serious, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

If you experience any side effects, please tell your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This also applies to any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet. 5. HOW TO CONSERVE GINKOR FORT, capsule?
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date indicated on the box. The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
Store in original packaging, away from moisture.
Do not dispose of any medicines down the drain or in the household waste. Ask your pharmacist to dispose of any medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
