Evening primrose seeds are sources of an oil rich in gamma-linolenic fatty acid (a good omega 6). They have therefore been used for centuries to perform massages or in certain remedies. Their totally natural origin allows you to take full advantage of the active ingredients of the plant.
This vegetable oil is obtained by first cold pressing of the seeds, which are first extracted from the plant. This process makes it possible to offer it an excellent cosmetic and food quality.
The oil is extracted from the tiny seeds of the evening primrose (Oenothera biennis), a plant of North American origin. This oil contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid. GLA is directly linked to the production of type 1 prostaglandins (PGE1) to the detriment of type 2 (PGE2). Through this effect, it would therefore reduce the mechanisms that trigger inflammation.

Tips for using PRANAROM ORGANIC Evening Primrose Oil
Oral use: 10 g (1 tablespoon) per day.
Cosmetic use: Suitable for all skin types.
A healthy body produces the GLA it needs from linoleic acid obtained from polyunsaturated vegetable oils: sunflower, safflower, corn, soy, etc. However, in certain situations, the body would have trouble producing GLA: diabetes, eczema, premenstrual syndrome, hypercholesterolemia, excess alcohol, etc. This can also occur in the event of a deficiency in certain vitamins or minerals, in particular zinc. Hence the interest of evening primrose oil which contains GLA ready to be used. Note that the causal link between a reduced level of GLA and the development of these states is not established.
