When should Solacy Adult be used for nasopharyngeal conditions?

Nasopharyngitis, also known as a nasopharyngeal infection, is a mild inflammation of the mucous membranes between the nose and the throat. It is very common during the winter or when the seasons change and is most often caused by a virus. Although it often affects young children, nasopharyngitis can also affect adults, particularly in cases of fatigue, a predisposition to allergies, or weakened immune defenses.

In adults, a nasopharyngeal infection typically presents with a stuffy nose, repeated sneezing, nasal discharge of varying thickness, a sore throat, and sometimes a bothersome cough. A mild fever, a general feeling of malaise, nausea, or digestive issues may also accompany the episode. Although this ENT infection is usually not serious, it can quickly become uncomfortable in daily life, especially when it interferes with breathing, sleep, or concentration.

Solacy Adult is a medication indicated for the symptomatic adjunctive treatment of nasopharyngeal conditions in adults. Its formula combines, among other ingredients, L-cystine, sulfur, vitamin A, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast. It supports the body when the upper respiratory tract is compromised, providing targeted relief to help the mucous membranes of the nose and throat better cope with seasonal irritants.

Thanks to its capsule format, Solacy for Adults easily fits into an ENT care routine, complementing essential measures such as nasal rinsing, staying well-hydrated, getting rest, and regularly ventilating rooms. The 90-capsule package allows for the recommended course of treatment and offers a convenient option for adults prone to episodes of nasopharyngitis, sore throat, or respiratory discomfort.

A formulation suitable for children as young as 6 months is also available: Solacy Pediatric 60 tablets for oral solution, to be used according to the package insert or as directed by a pharmacist.

How should this medication in capsule form be used?

For adults only. Take by mouth.

Take 3 capsules daily for 3 months.

Swallow the capsules with a glass of water, preferably with a meal.

Our expert advice on Solacy for Adults

When dealing with a nasopharyngeal condition, the best approach is to address several factors at once: rinse the nose with a suitable solution, drink fluids regularly, humidify the air if the environment is dry, and avoid tobacco and irritants. Solacy Adult can be incorporated into this routine as a supplementary symptomatic treatment to promote respiratory comfort and support the ENT mucous membranes. Also, be sure to monitor how symptoms develop: ear pain, developing sinusitis, a persistent fever, or worsening symptoms warrant medical attention.

Warnings Regarding Medications Purchased Online

GLOSSARY (summary)

yeast
Microscopic fungus.

nasopharyngitis
Inflammation of the upper part of the pharynx, situated behind the nose and above the veil of the palate. Its origin can be viral or bacterial.

overdose
Taking an excessive amount of a drug exposes you to an increase in the intensity of adverse effects, or even to the appearance of particular adverse effects.
This overdose may result from accidental or voluntary poisoning for suicide, so consult your local Poison Control Center (listed in the appendix to the book). However, in most cases, overdose is the result of an error in the understanding of the prescription, or the search for an increase in efficacy by exceeding the recommended dosage. Finally, untimely self-medication may lead to excessive absorption of the same substance contained in different drugs. Some drugs are particularly prone to this risk because they are (wrongly) considered to be harmless: vitamins A and D, aspirin, etc. Stopping or decreasing drug intake helps to remove the disorders associated with an overdose.

treatment
Treatment that complements the action of a specific treatment, but generally does not achieve healing on its own.

IU
Abbreviation for international unity. A standardized unit of measure which indicates the activity of a substance.

vitamin
An essential ingredient for the growth and proper functioning of the body. Vitamin requirements are normally covered by a varied diet. In developed countries, only vitamin D deficiency, in the young child or the old man who is exposed to the sun, justifies systematic supplementation. Superior intake, especially with medicines, can lead to overdose and various disorders (mainly vitamins A and D).
