Our brands Burns

Intense tingling, redness, blisters... Even slight burns cause sharp, immediate pain that calls for rapid relief. To soothe these skin lesions while respecting the skin's balance, homeopathy offers a gentle, personalized approach. On Soin-et-Nature, you'll find a selection of homeopathic remedies for 1st or 2nd degree burns, whether caused by heat, sun or irritating products.

How do I choose the right homeopathic treatment for my burn?

Burns are generally classified according to their severity: first-degree burns are superficial, and can go all the way up to third-degree, where the burns can damage nerves and vessels.
First- and second-degree burns that are superficial and not very extensive can be managed at home, with the advice of a pharmacist for appropriate care. In addition to specific local treatments, homeopathic medicines are available. These can be used for both local and general treatment.

Also, skin burns can be acute or chronic, and can be caused by a variety of things, such as the sun, chemicals, friction or thermal shock. Acute burns are generally less severe and heal quickly, while chronic burns can cause healing problems and chronic pain.

Homeopathy can be used to relieve pain and accelerate healing of skin burns. It can be particularly useful for mild and moderate burns, but can also be used in conjunction with other treatments for severe burns.

To treat skin burns with homeopathy, it's important to choose the homeopathic remedy that best matches the symptoms of the burn. For example, for burns caused by the sun, you could use the homeopathic remedy Cantharis, which is known to relieve the pain and inflammation of burns. For burns caused by chemicals, the homeopathic remedy Arsenicum album can be used to relieve pain and prevent infection.

Burns canbe caused by heat or radiation (ultraviolet, X-rays).

There are 3 types of burn:

  • 1st-degree burns, characterized by painful erythema (redness); the skin is red but there are no blisters;
  • 2nd-degree burns, characterized by the presence of one or more phlyctenes (blisters filled with transparent serous fluid);
  • 3rd-degree burns, characterized by charring of the tissues and requiring specific care.

Homeopathic treatment of burns varies according to the type of injury. Thus, the remedies to be used for a first-degree burn will be different from those for a second-degree injury. These are remedies to be taken orally, but at an advanced stage, homeopathic products can be applied directly to the wounds. The affected area should be immersed in cold water for several minutes, regardless of the degree of burn. If the wound is serious enough, or does not heal quickly, a doctor should be consulted.

Homeopathy is a natural healing method that aims to treat illnesses using diluted substances that reproduce the symptoms of the disease. Since its inception in the 18th century, homeopathy has been used to treat a wide range of health conditions, including skin burns.

Treating burns with homeopathy

Superficial lesions can be treated with Apis Mellifica and Belladonna. Apis Mellifica is taken in 9 or 15 CH doses, or in slices of 5 granules every 10 to 15 minutes. As the pain subsides, the doses should be spaced out. A dose of Belladonna 9 or 15 CH is recommended at the same time, or 5 9CH granules taken every hour. The doses should also be spaced out according to the level of pain, with treatment lasting no more than 24 hours. Treatment should be completed with Apis Mellifica 5 CH and Belladonna 4 CH with 5 granules morning, noon and evening. Apis Mellifica is more suitable for light lesions with pinkish skin, while Belladonna is more suitable for skin reddened by the burn.

For second-degree burns, Cantharis Vesicatoria 15 CH should be taken as 5 granules, 2 hours apart. As with superficial wounds, the doses should be spaced further apart as the pain diminishes.

For both first- and second-degree wounds, it's essential to soak the affected area in cold water for fifteen minutes before applying Calendula ointment, which will accelerate healing. Washing with clean water is even more important for chemically burned skin. Dressings soaked inHypericum or Urtica Urens lotion also soothe the skin.

Homeopathic treatment of burn trauma

Concussion following a burn should never be neglected, as it can not only seriously aggravate the burning sensation, but also leave psychological after-effects. If the burn victim is in a state of shock, a dose of Aconite 7 CH should be administered.

Locally, first cool the burned area with cool water, then apply a Calendula-based ointment such as Calendula Ointment LHF from Boiron Laboratories, a homeopathic healing and antiseptic remedy for adults and children.

Formulated with Calendula mother tincture, this homeopathic ointment not only relieves skin irritations, but can also be used to soothe the skin after a superficial burn.

As well as relieving the pain and inflammation of skin burns, homeopathy can also help prevent scarring and improve skin healing. Some studies have shown that homeopathy can reduce the healing time of burns and improve the appearance of healed skin.

Homeopathy is also a safe and natural treatment option for children suffering from skin burns. It can be used in complete safety.

When to consult a doctor

It's important to note that homeopathy should not be used in place of appropriate medical treatment for severe burns. If a burn is deep, affects a large area of skin or is caused by a chemical, it is important to consult a doctor immediately.

Second-degree and more extensive burns require medical attention. In children, the critical burned area is 10% of the body surface, and in adults 15%. In addition, any lesion showing fluid loss (onset of dehydration) also requires follow-up by a doctor. Finally, if the lesion takes too long to heal, even though it has already been treated, it should be examined by a specialist.
