A dietary supplement for pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, and exotic pets), farm animals (cows, pigs, poultry), or competition animals (horses, greyhounds) made with fluid extract of Milk Thistle (standardized and stabilized) and alcohol-free. These extracts are standardized and ensure a consistent and stable content of active ingredients.
The essence of milk thistle lies primarily in its hepatoprotective properties, which provide a protective and restorative effect on liver cells. By promoting the regeneration of liver cells, milk thistle serves as a key support for liver protection, particularly in cases of liver damage or toxicity.
Milk thistle (Silybum marianum), known for its high silymarin content—a complex of flavonoids—demonstrates a notable ability to protect and regenerate hepatocytes, the liver’s primary constituent cells. Silymarin plays a role in liver cell regeneration by modulating various cellular signaling pathways, including the promotion of cell proliferation and the inhibition of apoptosis.
Its high antioxidant content helps combat free radicals, thereby contributing to the overall protection of the body’s cells. It serves as a valuable ally in the fight against oxidative stress, helping to preservecellular integrity throughout the body.
The ancient Greeks already used milk thistle to treat liver and biliary disorders. In the Middle Ages, the plant was used to dispel “melancholy” or “black bile,” which was associated with various liver-related disorders. Today, its use remains linked to liver and biliary disorders.
