KARDEGIC 160MG Aspirin stroke prevention 30 Sachets

Containing aspirin, this dosage is specifically intended for the treatment of certain heart and blood vessel disorders, alone or in combination with other treatments prescribed by your doctor.

Description of KARDEGIC 160MG Aspirin stroke prevention 30 Sachets

Kardegic 160 mg Aspirin Stroke Prevention 30 sachets is used to prevent recurrence of cardiovascular disease caused by a blood clot in an artery.
Blood clots are semi-solid, viscous masses of blood cells. Their formation is a normal reaction of the body to damage to a blood vessel. Their main function is to plug the leak and prevent bleeding.
However, when a clot obstructs an artery (or thrombus), preventing the flow of blood and oxygen to an organ, it can lead to tissue damage, or infarction. When blood clots break loose (embolism) from the area they were intended to protect, they can put other organs at risk.

KARDEGIC 160MG: Stroke prevention with Aspirin

KARDEGIC 160MG is an aspirin-containing medication specially formulated for stroke prevention. This dosage is particularly suitable for the treatment of certain heart or vascular conditions, either alone or in combination with other treatments prescribed by your doctor. Find out how KARDEGIC 160MG can help protect your heart health.

Indications :

KARDEGIC 160MG is indicated for the prevention of stroke. Strokes are serious events that occur when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, resulting in potentially irreversible brain damage. This medication is particularly suitable for patients with certain heart or vascular conditions, as recommended by their doctor.

Mechanism of Action :

Aspirin, the active ingredient in KARDEGIC 160MG, is an antiplatelet agent. It acts by reducing the aggregation of blood platelets, which limits the formation of blood clots in blood vessels. This helps prevent the formation of clots that can lead to stroke.

Asprin is also available in a higher dosage, Kardegic 300 mg, which is always used for heart conditions.

Directions for use :

  • Take KARDEGIC 160MG as directed by your doctor or healthcare professional.
  • The recommended dosage varies according to your individual state of health and needs.
  • Regular treatment is essential for optimal efficacy.

Precautions and Warnings :

  • Inform your doctor of all medications you are currently taking, including supplements, as some may interact with aspirin.
  • In case of gastrointestinal bleeding, severe skin rash or any other adverse reaction, consult a health care practitioner immediately.

KARDEGIC 160MG is a valuable tool in stroke prevention for patients with certain heart or vascular conditions. However, it is essential to follow your doctor's recommendations and take appropriate precautions to ensure safe and effective use.

- pemetrexed (a drug used in the treatment of certain cancers): the combination may increase the risk of pemetrexed toxicity. Your doctor should monitor your clinical condition.

Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines containing :

- methotrexate in doses greater than 20 mg/week (used to treat certain cancers),

- gastrointestinal topicals, antacids and adsorbents (drugs used to treat digestive pain or digestive ulcers),

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Pregnancy

This medicine contains aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). Do NOT take ANY OTHER medication containing aspirin (including over-the-counter medicines).

- up to 100 mg daily: Throughout pregnancy, if necessary, your specialist doctor may prescribe low doses of laspirin (up to 100 mg per day), in exceptional circumstances requiring specialist supervision. If this is the case, it is very important to follow your doctor's instructions to the letter, without exceeding the prescribed doses.

- between 100 and 500 mg per day: As a precautionary measure, the following recommendations apply unless otherwise prescribed by your specialist.

- 500 mg or more per day:

From the beginning of the 6th month (24th week of amenorrhea) until the end of pregnancy, KARDEGIC 160 mg, powder for drinkable solution in sachet is contraindicated. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you take this medicine during this period, as its effects on your unborn child may be serious or even fatal. In particular, toxicity to the heart, lungs and/or kidneys has been observed, even with a single dose. It can also affect you and your baby, promoting bleeding and leading to a later or longer-than-expected delivery.

Before the beginning of the 6th month (up to the 24th week of amenorrhea) or if you are planning a pregnancy, you should not take this medicine unless absolutely necessary. This will be determined by your doctor. In such cases, the dose should be as low as possible and the duration of treatment as short as possible.

NSAIDs, including KARDEGIC 160 mg, powder for drinkable solution in sachet, can cause miscarriage and, in some cases, malformations after exposure in early pregnancy.

From 2 and a half months of pregnancy (12 weeks of amenorrhea), KARDEGIC 160 mg, powder for drinkable solution in sachet may cause kidney problems in your baby, if taken for several days, leading to a low level of amniotic fluid in the baby (oligohydramnios).

From the beginning of the 5th month of pregnancy (20 weeks of amenorrhea), a narrowing of the blood vessels in your baby's heart (constriction of the ductus arteriosus) may be observed. If treatment lasting several days is required during the 5th month of pregnancy (between 20 and 24 weeks' gestation), your doctor may recommend additional monitoring.

If you have taken this medicine while pregnant, tell your doctor immediately, so that suitable monitoring can be offered if necessary.

Breast-feeding

As Laspirine passes into breast milk, this medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding.

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medication.

Fertility

Laspirin, like all non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), may impair fertility in women and cause difficulties in becoming pregnant, reversible on discontinuation of treatment. Inform your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy or have difficulty conceiving.

This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) of sodium per sachet, i.e. it is essentially "sodium-free".
