Pranarom Officinal Sage Essential Oil Salvia Officinalis 10ml: Large-leaf sage is a plant of the Lamiaceae family that produces an essential oil rich in thujone. This plant grows on limestone soils in the Mediterranean region. It is a perennial, branched sub-shrub up to 70 cm tall, woody at the base and highly aromatic. It is the sacred herb of the Latins, praised by Dioscorides and Galen for its emmenagogue and tonic properties. The genus Salvia comes from the Latin "salvare".
