What is Pranarom Large-Leaf Sage Essential Oil used for?

Large-leaved sage is a plant in the Lamiaceae family that yields an essential oil rich in thujone. This plant grows on limestone soils in the Mediterranean region. It is a 70 cm tall, perennial, branched subshrub that is woody at the base and highly aromatic. It is the sacred herb of the Romans; praised by Dioscorides and Galen for its emmenagogue and tonic properties. The genus name Salvia comes from the Latin “salvare.”

Large-Leaved Common Sage has a multitude of pharmacological properties beneficial to health, including:

  • Antibacterial: It is effective against a wide range of bacteria, making it a valuable ally in the treatment of bacterial infections.
  • Antifungal: It is effective against the fungi responsible for skin and fungal infections.
  • Antiviral: It helps fight the viruses responsible for viral infections, thereby strengthening the immune system.
  • Anti-inflammatory: It helps reduce inflammation and associated pain, making it a suitable choice for inflammatory conditions.
  • Antispasmodic: It acts on smooth muscles to relieve spasms and cramps.
  • General tonic: It revitalizes and tones the body, helping to combat fatigue and exhaustion.

We also offerlemon essential oil from LCA, a laboratory specializing in aromatherapy, at the best price in our online pharmacy.

Decongestant action for gynecological issues such as amenorrhea; dilute sage essential oil to 7% inborage vegetable oil. Massage this mixture onto the lower abdomen.

Special precautions:
