What is PURESSENTIEL hebbd Chamomile Essential Oil 5ml used for?

Chamomile (Chamaemelum Nobile) essential oil is the richest in esters (more than 60), giving it relaxing and antidepressant properties (isobutyl angelate is thought to be an antidepressant). It is a digestive tonic: carminative and cholagogue, as well as parasiticide. It is also a sedative oil, calming the central nervous system and reducing anxiety when massaged. It is also analgesic and spasmolytic. This essential oil also has hypotensive, calming, neurotonic and nerve-balancing properties. Finally, it is a mildly emmenagogue, anti-inflammatory (less so than matricaria), antipruritic, antiphlogistic and antiallergic plant.

Decontracting and anti-depressant properties

Chamomile essential oil is particularly rich in esters, with over 60% of this class of compounds. These esters give the oil decontracting properties, helping to relieve muscular tension and relax the body and mind. What's more, the isobutyl angelate present in chamomile is considered a natural antidepressant, helping to ease anxiety and improve mood.

Digestive tonic

Chamomile is also renowned for its digestive tonic properties. It acts as a carminative and cholagogue, helping to relieve digestive disorders such as bloating, gas and abdominal cramps. By promoting bile production and stimulating digestion, it contributes to optimal functioning of the digestive system.

Sedative and calming properties

Chamomile essential oil is a powerful central nervous system relaxant. Its use in massage reduces anxiety, calms the nerves and induces a feeling of deep relaxation. It is particularly effective in soothing mental and emotional tensions, promoting restful sleep and a feeling of general well-being.

Analgesic and spasmolytic

Chamomile's analgesic and spasmolytic properties make it an effective remedy for pain and muscle spasms. It works by alleviating painful sensations and relaxing tense muscles, offering fast, lasting relief. It is often used to treat headaches, menstrual cramps and muscular pain.

Other properties

In addition to its main properties, Chamomile essential oil has a multitude of other health benefits, including:

  • Hypotensive properties: helps lower blood pressure.
  • Calming and neurotonic effect: helps calm the nerves and balance the nervous system.
  • Nervous rebalancing action: promotes a state of calm and serenity.
  • Slight emmenagogue action: promotes menstrual flow in women.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties: reduces inflammation and relieves associated pain.
  • Antipruritic and antiallergic effect: relieves itching and allergic skin reactions.
