Indications for the Antiparasitic Medication for Dogs

Usage: This medication is indicated for dogs with flea and/or tick infestations and when repellent action against sand flies and/or mosquitoes is required.

Fleas:

• Treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis).
• Fleas on the dog are eliminated within 24 hours of treatment.
• A single application provides protection against new infestations for four weeks.
• May be used as part of treatment for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD), following a prior diagnosis by a veterinarian.

Ticks:

• Treatment of tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus).
• A single application provides persistent acaricidal protection for four weeks against ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus).
• Not all ticks of the species Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus may be killed within 48 hours after application.

Sand Flies and Mosquitoes:

• One treatment provides repellent action against sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti) for four weeks.

How to Properly Apply Perfikan to Your Dog?

Use one pipette ofPerfikanonce a month, applied directly to your pet’s skin. 

• Remove the pipette from the blister pack. Hold it upright. Gently tap the narrow end of the pipette to ensure the contents have moved down into the middle section of the pipette. Snap off the break-off tip of the spot-on pipette along the engraved line.
• Part your pet’s fur until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly on the exposed skin.
• Gently squeeze several times to completely empty the contents of the pipette in two to four spots, depending on the dog’s weight, along the back between the shoulders and the base of the tail.
• For dogs weighing less than 20 kg: apply in two spots on the animal’s body.
• For dogs weighing more than 20 kg: apply at 2 to 4 spots on the animal’s body.
• Use when a flea and/or tick infestation is confirmed or when the risk of infestation is high, and when repellent action is needed against sand flies and/or mosquitoes.

Recommended Dosage: The minimum dose is 6.7 mg of fipronil and 60 mg of permethrin per kg of body weight.

Contraindications

• Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.

• Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or those recovering from illness.
