Lemongrass essential oil has anti-inflammatory, sedative and vasodilator properties. It is mosquito repellent and antiviral against Herpes virus. Its composition is similar to that of lemon balm essential oil, which is much more expensive. This essential oil is anti-amoebic with that of Ocimum gratissimum. It is also anxiolytic and analgesic. The essential oil decreases the sensitivity to pain (myrcene), by increasing endogenous morphinopeptides.
Not to be confused with CYMBOPOGON FLEXUOSUS which is also called Lemongrass.
