Properties of Oil of Wintergreen

Wintergreen essential oil has analgesic properties, vulnerary and anti-inflammatory. It is antirheumatic, antibacterial and antioxidant. It is an antispasmodic and antitussive essential oil.

Essential Oil of wintergreen contains a large amount of methyl salicylate which gives it powerful analgesic properties of muscle pain, cystitis or premenstrual syndrome and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the pain of tendonitis, the arthrosis or arthritis.

Essential Oil of Wintergreen Recommendations

We advise the essential oil of wintergreen in the following cases:

- Tendonitis, arthritis, rheumatism, osteoarthritis

- Muscle cramps and spasms

- All conditions of muscle and joint pain

- Liver Laziness

NB: acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) is the synthesized molecule methyl salicylate, present to 99% in the essential oil of wintergreen.

Tips for using the essential oil Wintergreen

Pursuant to the areas concerned, massage 2-5 drops diluted in a vegetable oil or pure 3 times a day.

For children over 6 years, use 2 drops 3 times a day.

Action Relieving muscle cramp kind; dilute the essential oil of wintergreen to 10% in vegetable oil arnica. Massage the affected area.

Possible use: Tendons sore (adults)
2 drops of wintergreen + 2 drops of Lemon Eucalyptus + 1 drop of peppermint + 20 vegetable oil drops of Macadamia, 3 drops of this mixture in local application.

Another possible use: sore joints (adults)
Wintergreen 1 drop + 1 drop of Helichrysum + 1 drop of Laurel + 3 vegetable oil drops of Macadamia, 4 drops of this mixture in local application.

Current Uses: Wintergreen is used in external application, massage or friction.

Precautions of Oil of Wintergreen

- Do not swallow

- Do not distribute
