What is ear wax?
Earwax protects the ear canal and helps eliminate bacteria and dust. Sometimes it builds up in the pipe and the mouth. This phenomenon may be due to an increase in production or poor removal of earwax. In all cases, the plug may cause troublesome symptoms (hearing decrease, benign pain).
What is earwax?
Earwax is an unusual accumulation of this substance in the conduit (or "channel") hearing.
Of waxy and yellow or brown color, the wax is produced by specific glands called "ceruminous", present in the skin of the ear canal. It also contains sebum and dander (small dead skin).
Its role is to protect the walls of the conduit, water could enter and to trap foreign bodies (eg. Dust) and bacteria, which are then eliminated by the antibacterial properties of earwax.
Normally, this substance is gradually removed to the entrance of the ear canal through the jaw movements during mastication. However, sometimes wax forms a plug that blocks the duct.
