Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - also known as prostate adenoma or benign prostatic hyperplasia - generally affects men over the age of 50.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is characterized by an increase in the size of the prostate. An enlarged prostate compresses the urethra and puts pressure on the bladder, resulting in a frequent need to urinate and various micturition problems, depending on the case (lower and intermittent flow, pain, etc.).
Men with an enlarged prostate often have difficulty urinating. At first, they find it difficult to start urinating, and then, as the urinary stream is weak and jerky, they feel as if they've never emptied their bladder. Moreover, the urge to urinate is felt several times a night. Patients sometimes feel pain in the back and upper thighs.
Permixon 160mg is a plant extract-based medicine with decongestant properties for the urinary tract. Permixon 160mg is recommended for the treatment of certain miction (urine output) disorders associated with prostate hypertrophy (enlargement).
This plant-based medicine contains 160 mg of lipidosterol extract of serenoa repens, better known as the Florida palm. These active ingredients have a decongestant effect on urine output. On the prostate, they reduce the action of male hormone, a factor which favors the development of prostatic adenomas.
Experimental work in animals and in vitro on prostate cells has shown that the lipid-sterol extract of Serenoa repens:
Therapeutic class Urology nephrology . Treatment of moderate urinary disorders associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia in adult men (G: genitourinary system and sex hormones).

In cases of acute prostatitis, antibiotic treatment is necessary. However, we must remain vigilant, as prostatitis can, in some cases, become chronic, leading to a recurrence at variable intervals of infection, pain or discomfort.
For symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia, treatment aims to improve quality of life and reduce symptoms by improving urinary flow. A number of drugs are available: alpha-blockers, 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, phytotherapy products (Cypress walnut tea, Arkogélules pumpkin seed oil, Pygeum Africanum - Tadenan), dietary supplements(Solgar Prostate support, Prostaform for prostatic urinary disorders, Androbiane Pileje for urinary comfort), homeopathic medicines(L6 Juniperus Complexe Lehning) and gemmotherapy products(Prestagem Herbalgem ).
Surgical treatment may also be proposed if medical treatment fails (10-20% of cases), or in the event of severe discomfort or complications.
When prostate problems cause symptoms, they are particularly annoying: frequent urges to urinate, difficulty in urinating or emptying the bladder, pain, etc. It is therefore important to consult a specialist as soon as possible. So it's important to seek medical advice without delay.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-cancerous (benign) enlargement of the prostate that can make urination difficult. The prostate increases in size with age. Men may experience difficulty in micturition, with a more frequent and urgent need to urinate.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) - also known as prostate adenoma or benign prostatic hyperplasia - generally affects men over 50. It is characterized by an increase in the volume of the prostate, due to an adenoma (benign tumour) which most often develops in the area in contact with the urethra, known as the transition zone. Prostate adenoma is not cancer. It is a benign disease that poses no major risk to the individual, but it can cause urinary problems due to the pressure exerted on the urethra.
