Composition of EPS Phytostandard Busserole
Bearberry extract - Arctostaphylos uva-ursi L. (leaf), stabilized in glycerin of vegetable origin.
Ericaceae family
Origin: Asia - America
Skillfully used in inflammatory and infectious urinary pathology, both in prevention and curative , bearberry is a very useful medicinal plant in the therapeutic range of the phytotherapist. Taking bearberry does not lead to bacterial resistance in the management of this type of infectious and painful pathologies. It is recommended to respect the precautions for use and the contraindications of the plant.
Preserving the constituents of bearberry requires an extraction process implemented in the absence of air and light. The activity of bearberry leaf is essentially linked to its hydrophilic active ingredients (hydroquinone), but the synergy of action of the compounds of the plant makes it necessary to have an extract
bringing all the fractions of the plant. This is made possible by a double water and alcohol extraction carried out from fresh plants, which respects the integrity and all of the active ingredients present in the original plant. This process also has the advantage of ensuring the perfect bioavailability of the natural active compounds and consequently of optimizing the therapeutic efficacy of the bearberry leaf.
History and origin of the use of the Bearberry
A small shrub native to Asia and America, the bearberry produces scarlet-red berries that attract bears, hence its nickname “ bearberry ”.
Its glossy and persistent green leaves are rich in arbutoside, a phenolic compound metabolized mainly in the urine and which gives bearberry its urinary antiseptic properties.
