Expert advice
In animal naturopathy, prevention remains the best weapon against parasites. Of course, the use of a suitable anti-parasite product like Beaphar powder is essential, but you can also reinforce your dog's or cat's resistance naturally.
Good hygiene is essential: brush your companion's coat regularly to spot parasites quickly, especially after a walk outdoors. Frequent cleaning of bedding, baskets and blankets also reduces the risk of reinfestation.
Diet also plays a role: a well-nourished animal, with a sufficient supply of essential fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6) and vitamins, has a skin and immune system that are more resistant to parasite attack. Natural supplements such as brewer's yeast or garlic (in very small doses and only on veterinary advice) are sometimes used for support.
Finally, natural repellents such as lavender or rose geranium essential oil can be used in the environment (and not directly on the animal, unless specially formulated and approved by a veterinarian). They help keep fleas and ticks at bay in a complementary way.
Combine these simple gestures with an effective anti-parasite treatment, and you'll be protecting your pet against infestations for the long term, while respecting its natural balance.
