Often referred to as the "northern pine", the flower has a long, straight trunk, usually reaching 25 metres in height, and lives for more than two centuries. Some Scots pines can last over 700 years. The tree is easily identified by its ochre-red bark. Its leaves are bluish needles measuring between 4 and 7 cm in length.

The Bach Pine flower comes from the Scots Pine, a species of tree belonging to the Pinaceae family, found in Europe as far east as Siberia. Scots pine is the oldest of all flowering plants. Symbolizing profound transformation over time and successive generations, it is possible to distinguish three stages of growth on a single plant. Scots pine is a conifer whose wood is widely used, notably in construction and pulp and paper manufacture. Its buds and needles can be distilled into essential oils for use in herbal medicine. This tree is an essence of light, needing plenty of light to grow. It fears neither cold nor drought, and adapts well to most soils.
