What is Cacit Calcium tablets used for?

When the body needs reinforcement to build or maintain a strong skeleton, it relies on an essential ally: calcium. Cacit Calcium tablets contain a high concentration of calcium, the main constituent of our bones. Cacit Calcium tablets are designed to meet the increased need for calcium during growth, pregnancy andbreastfeeding, as well as in cases of bone decalcification, particularly after the menopause or during prolonged cortisone therapy.

Cacit's formulation acts like a mineral cement, reinforcing the body's foundations. Like a bricklayer consolidating a weakened building, it fills in deficiencies and strengthens bone structure. Calcium released in bioavailable form is easily assimilated, guaranteeing rapid and lasting effectiveness.

During periods of growth or pregnancy, calcium requirements soar. It's no longer enough to rely solely on dairy products. Cacit is a leading calcium supplement that prevents imbalances and optimally supports bone tissue formation . It also supports breastfeeding mothers by preserving their own mineral reserves, while providing the nutrients needed by the newborn baby.

And what about post-menopausal osteoporosis? This silent bone fragility weakens internal structures and increases the risk of fractures. Cacit, by providing an optimal daily intake of calcium, helps to slow the loss of bone mass and maintain skeletal integrity. It's not a miracle treatment, but an essential basis for preserving long-term mineral balance.

Another case in point: prolonged treatment with cortisone. These often have the side-effect of demineralizing the bones, compromising skeletal strength. Here, Cacit acts as a bulwark against bone fragility, providing the mineral support needed to counter the deleterious effects of these long-term treatments.

And that's not all. Prolonged immobilization - fracture, bed rest, surgery - can lead to rapid decalcification, particularly in the elderly. As soon as mobility is restored, Cacit becomes a valuable solution for gradually rebuilding bone density and avoiding future complications.

Cacit does not exclude a balanced diet. Dairy products and natural sources of calcium remain essential, but Cacit supplements them when dietary intake is insufficient. In case of doubt, the advice of a health professional is recommended to assess real needs and optimize supplementation.

All in all, this supplement is a real bone insurance, a clear, practical and scientifically-based answer to the many situations in which the body requires more calcium.

Are you looking to strengthen your bones in a targeted and effective way? We also offer Calcium Mylan 500 mg 60 Tablets, a complementary solution perfectly adapted to your needs.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used in the following cases:
  • excess calcium in the blood or urine,
  • calcium lithiasis,
  • prolonged immobilization (wait until you can walk again before starting treatment).

Warning

Excessive calcium intake can be dangerous, particularly in cases of renal failure. Do not use without medical advice.

When this drug is used to treat bone decalcification due to prolonged immobilization, it should only be taken when walking is resumed.

Calcium is sometimes combined with vitamin D, which promotes its absorption; blood tests may be prescribed to check that there is no abnormal accumulation of calcium in the body.

Drug interactions

Interact with cyclins, biphosphonates, thyroid hormones, iron-, zinc- or strontium-containing drugs at least 2 hours apart.

Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking a medicine containing digoxin or a diuretic (e.g. hydrochlorothazide).

There are also food interactions: foods known to be rich in oxalic acid (spinach, rhubarb, sorrel, cocoa, tea) or phytic acid (chocolate, wholegrain cereals, pulses) may reduce calcium absorption. It is therefore recommended to take this medicine at a distance from meals containing these foods.

Fertility, pregnancy and breast-feeding

Calcium intake during pregnancy or breast-feeding should not exceed 1,500 mg per day.

Directions for use and dosage

Effervescent tablets should be dissolved in a glass of water.

  • Children aged 6 to 10: 1 x 500 mg tablet per day.

Advice

Taking this medicine does not dispense with regular consumption of dairy products, which are naturally rich in calcium.

Effervescent tablets should be stored in a dry place.

Possible side effects

Digestive disorders, skin rash.

Prolonged high-dose treatment: hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria (excess calcium in the urine, which can lead to kidney stones).

LEXICON

calculus

Concretion (stone) that forms in the excretory tracts of certain organs: urinary, biliary and salivary tracts.

Synonym: lithiasis.

cortisone

Hormone secreted by the adrenal glands. It helps regulate sugars, fats and proteins in the body, as well as the body's reaction to stress. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties are used therapeutically. Natural cortisone is called cortisol (which can be measured by blood tests). Hydrocortisone is the medicinal form closest to natural cortisone, and is mainly used in the replacement treatment of diseases caused by cortisone deficiency. Other, more potent chemical derivatives are used when an anti-inflammatory effect is required: prednisone, prednisolone, betamethasone, dexamethasone, etc.

skin rash

Appearance of pimples or patches on the skin. These lesions may be caused by food or medication, and may reflect an allergy or toxic effect. Many viruses can also cause rashes: rubella, roseola and measles are the best known.

hypercalcemia

Excess calcium in the blood, due to illness or the use of certain medications (excess vitamin D).

hypercalciuria

Abnormal increase in calcium in the urine.

renal insufficiency

Inability of the kidneys to eliminate waste products or drug substances. Advanced renal failure does not necessarily mean a reduction in the quantity of urine eliminated. Only a blood test and creatinine level can reveal this disease.

lithiasis

Concretion (stone) that forms in the excretory tracts of certain organs: urinary, biliary and salivary tracts.

Synonym: calculus.

menopause

Gradual cessation of menstrual cycles, which occurs in women around the age of 50. Menopause is due to a sharp drop in hormone secretion by the ovaries. It can also be the result of surgical removal of the ovaries or drug treatment.

See article: Menopause

osteoporosis

Fragility of the bones, which become porous and brittle.

See article: Osteoporosis.

digestive disorders

Symptoms of irritation or malfunction of the digestive tract. One or more disorders may be present: nausea, vomiting, aerophagia, abdominal pain, heartburn, bloating, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation, etc. Antibiotics can promote candidiasis, often responsible for digestive disorders.
