Notorious ingredients and excipients of Combantrin syrup

Combantrin syrup contains the following excipients with known effect: sodium benzoate, glycerol and 70% crystallizable sorbitol. The bottle has a capacity of 15 ml.

Combantrin Syrup Dosage and Administration

The dosage of Combantrin syrup depends on the weight of the patient as well as the type of parasites to be treated:

  • To fight against pinworms: 10 mg/kg in a single dose
    • Children over 12 kg: about 1/2 measuring spoon (i.e. 2.5 ml per 10 kg of weight)
    • Adults under 75 kg: about 3 measuring spoons
    • Adults over 75 kg: about 4 measuring spoons

In the case of pinworms, the treatment must be carried out in a single dose and repeated 3 weeks later to avoid reinfestation.

Hygiene measures and precautions to take in case of parasitosis

In order to prevent the spread of the infestation, it is essential to treat all family members at the same time, even if some do not show particular symptoms. It is also recommended to follow strict hygiene rules:

  • Daily cleaning of the anal region
  • Brushing and trimming short nails several times a day
  • Daily change of underwear and pajamas regularly
  • Avoid play areas with sand, which are often contaminated with animal waste
