Our doctors of pharmacy advise you

What is Combantrin Deworming Tablet used for?

When intestinal parasites strike without warning, it’s essential to have a fast, effective, and targeted treatment you can rely on. Combantrin deworming tablets are specially formulated to eliminate the most common intestinal worms, such as pinworms, roundworms, and hookworms. This antiparasitic medication works by paralyzing the worms in the intestine, allowing them to be expelled naturally through the digestive tract without causing intestinal spasms.

Ideal when used in combination with strict hygiene measures to prevent recurrence of intestinal parasitic infections. A gentle alternative recommended by our pharmacists: Pediakid Phytovermile syrup.

Thanks to its active ingredient, pyrantel, Combantrin acts locally in the intestine and is absorbed only minimally into the body. This localized mode of action limits systemic side effects while ensuring effective elimination of parasites. It is suitable for both adults and children weighing more than 12 kg, making it a practical solution for the whole family.

What makes Combantrin special? A single dose may be enough to get rid of the intruder! That’s what makes this dewormer so popular: simplicity, speed, and effectiveness. The dosage is easy to adjust based on body weight, allowing for personalized treatment without any complications. If necessary, a second dose is generally recommended after two to three weeks to prevent possible reinfestation.

In addition to its effectiveness, Combantrin is part of a comprehensive preventive strategy against parasitic infestations. When combined with strict hygiene measures—such as handwashing, regularly changing sheets and clothes, or trimming children’s nails—this treatment helps prevent recurrence, which is common in cases of pinworm infection.

This treatment is also recommended when nonspecific symptoms suggest a parasitic infection: anal itching, digestive problems, nighttime restlessness, or unexplained irritability. All of these signs may indicate an unwanted presence in the intestine. Combantrin, with its broad spectrum of action, is therefore a first-line treatment.

In summary, Combantrin is a powerful ally against intestinal worms. It acts quickly, is easy to administer, and is well tolerated. Valuable in emergency situations as well as for regular treatment, this deworming tablet is a must-have in your family first-aid kit.

To enhance the antiparasitic effects of this adult dewormer, consider alternating this antiparasitic treatment withFluvermal Adult tablets every six months, which can effectively complement Combantrin’s action, particularly when there is an increased risk of parasitic infection.

How should Combantrin tablets be used?

Directions for Use

Combantrin is an oral treatment intended for adults and children weighing more than 12 kg. The dosage depends on body weight:

  • For children: 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight
  • For adults weighing less than 75 kg: 6 tablets
  • For adults weighing more than 75 kg: 8 tablets

A single dose is sufficient for the treatment of pinworm infection. It is recommended to repeat the dose after 2 to 3 weeks to prevent reinfection.

For other parasitic infections such as ascariasis or hookworm infection, the treatment regimen should be determined by your doctor. The tablet can be swallowed with a glass of water, with or without food, without the need for a laxative.
