Beaphar Voxical XL for dogs is a dewormerrecommended for the treatment of mixed infestationscaused by nematodes (roundworms) and cestodes (tapeworms). This film-coated tablet has a meaty flavor. It is formulated for adult dogs weighing more than 17.5 kg.
Containing the active ingredients febantel, praziquantel, or pyrantel, this tablet eradicates nematodes such as roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. It also eliminates cestode infestations, particularly tapeworms.
If the worms are resistant to the anthelmintic or there is a risk of reinfestation, consult a veterinarian to determine the appropriate treatment and dosage. Parasites can develop resistance to an anthelmintic in this category if it is used frequently or repeatedly. To reduce the risk of reinfestation with nematodes and cestodes, the animal’s feces should be picked up and disposed of within 24 hours of treatment.
Note that reinfestation with tapeworms is possible if the dog has fleas, as fleas act as intermediate hosts. It is therefore important to treat the fleas.

Voxical XL should not be used in pregnant dogs during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.

Voxical XL must be administered orally only. The dosage is 1⁄2 to 1 tablet, depending on the animal’s weight. The recommended dose is 15 mg of febantel, 5 mg of pyrantel, and 5 mg of praziquantel per kg of body weight. This is equivalent to 1 tablet for a 35-kg dog. This means you should give 1⁄2 tablet to a dog weighing approximately 17.5 kg. To ensure the correct dosage, check the animal’s weight before administration.
This medication should be given as a single dose, either placed directly into the dog’s mouth or mixed with its food. The animal does not need to fast before or after treatment.

What are the side effects and contraindications?
This tablet is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the other components of the formula. It should also not be used in dogs weighing less than 17.5 kg.
Voxical XL for dogs is not recommended if the dog is taking a medication containing compounds from the piperazine family. The anthelmintic effects of pyrantel and piperazine may be antagonistic. This dewormer may cause gastrointestinal upset in some dogs, including diarrhea or vomiting.
