What is Beaphar Voxical Dewormer for Cats and Kittens used for?
Voxical Dewormer for Cats and Kittens is a film-coated tablet. This product is formulated to treat roundworm and tapeworm infestations in kittens and cats older than 6 weeks. This tablet treats infections caused by nematodes and cestodes. This dewormer eliminates roundworms such as Toxocara cati and Toxascaris leonina. This coated tablet is effective against tapeworms such as Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, and Echinococcus multilocularis.
If new infestations occur, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian. The local epidemiological situation and the cats’ living conditions must be taken into account before repeating treatment with Voxical for cats and kittens. Parasites may develop resistance to treatment with frequent or repeated use of the same class of medication.
Worm reinfestation can occur repeatedly. It is caused by intermediate hosts. For this reason, it is essential to eliminate possible sources: fleas, mice, etc.
Cats infested with parasites suffer from vomiting and diarrhea. Parasites can be seen in the feces. In this case, the cat should be examined by a veterinarian after the treatment has been administered.
To prevent transmission to humans, the person administering the medication must be sure to wash their hands thoroughly immediately afterward. In case of accidental ingestion, seek advice from a healthcare professional.
At the Biocanina veterinary laboratory, we also offer Ascatène tablets for dogs and cats at the best price in our online pharmacy.
How should this dewormer be used?
Available as film-coated tablets, this dewormer is intended for oral use only. It is administered as a single dose, either directly into the animal’s mouth or mixed with its food.
The dosage ranges from ½ to 2 tablets, depending on the cat’s body weight. The prescribed dose for a cat is 20 mg of Pyrantel and 5 mg of Praziquantel per kg, which is equivalent to 1 tablet for a 4-kg cat.
In kittens, roundworm infestations may not be completely eliminated. These parasites may therefore be transmitted to humans. In this case, repeat treatments should be administered at 14-day intervals. This can be done up to 2 to 3 weeks after weaning.
