    What is Docteur Valnet Organic Marjoram essential oil used for?

    Marjoram essential oil has antispasmodic, sedative and nervous system calming properties. It is tranquilizing, parasympathicotonic, hypotensive, vasodilating and analgesic. This essential oil protects against the renal and hepatic toxicity of lead acetate.

    Marjoram or Origanum majorana (Lamiaceae family) is native to the Near and Middle East. Marjoram is grown in the south of France on light, dry soils with good exposure to the sun. Known since Antiquity, it was reputed, among other things, to "strengthen and warm the nerves". Soothing and aiding digestion, the essential oil will also help people under stress.

    The organic essential oil of Marjoram, marketed by Dr. Valnet, is characterized by a diversity of beneficial health properties, notably in the fight against infections, inflammation and neurological imbalances.

    Antimicrobial properties :

    • Antibacterial: Demonstrates action against several pathogens resistant to conventional treatments, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Streptococcus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli and Propionobacterium acnes.
    • Antifungal: Effective against Candida albicans, Trichophyton spp. (agents of athlete's foot and nail fungus), Microsporum spp. (responsible for ringworm) and the yeasts that cause Pityriasis versicolor.
    • Antiviral: Demonstrates antiviral activity, particularly against the herpes virus.

    Anti-inflammatory properties:

    • Pro-inflammatory cytokine inhibition: Helps reduce inflammation by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, also possessing diuretic activity.
    • Stimulation of the Pituitary-Cortical-Adrenal Axis: Similar to the effect of cortisone, this oil is relevant in the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions.
