Advice from our orthopedic pharmacist

Treating traumatic, joint, tendon, and arthritic pain

Management of traumatic, joint, tendon, and arthritic pain (contusions, blows, impacts, strains, sprains, tendinitis, dislocations, arthritis) is carried out in 3 steps:

1/ Cryotherapy 3 times a day usingTherm-cool Cold Sprayor the Thera-pearl cold pack (apply for 15 to 20 minutes)

2/ Relieve pain and inflammation with Therm-cool Pain Relief Gel; apply by massaging gently without rubbing it in.

3/ Support and immobilize using a splint, brace, ankle brace, knee brace, etc.

These conditions are characterized by pain, swelling, bruising, and inflammation.

Cold therapy, applied as soon as possible after an injury, produces a vasoconstrictive effect that inhibits pain (analgesic), reduces fluid buildup (anti-inflammatory), reduces swelling (anti-edematous), and reduces bleeding (antihemorrhagic).

Treating Muscle Pain and Osteoarthritis

The management of muscle pain and osteoarthritis (back pain, low back pain, osteoarthritis, muscle spasms, muscle soreness) is carried out in 3 steps:

1/ Apply heat using Neuriplege Activ cream or theThera-Pearl heat pack(apply for 15 to 20 minutes)

2/ Relieve pain and promote relaxation and recovery withNociceptol pain-relief gel; apply by massaging gently without rubbing it in.

3/ Provide support using a lumbar support belt, neck brace, or cervical collar.

These conditions are characterized by pain, stiffness, and limited mobility.

Heat therapy improves mobility, reduces pain signals (analgesic effect), promotes muscle relaxation, and reduces muscle spasms and soreness.
