How to use this antiparasitic?

Frontpro beef-flavored tablets are easy and convenient to administer. Simply give a chewable tablet directly into your large dog's mouth, or mix it with his usual food. Only one tablet a month is needed to maintain effective protection against fleas and ticks.

Frontpro tablets are palatable and generally well accepted by most dogs. However, if your dog is reluctant to take the tablet directly, you can administer it by mixing it into his food. This flexibility makes treatment administration very convenient for dog owners.

The treatment schedule with Frontpro is simple. It consists of administering one tablet per month, particularly during seasons when flea and/or tick infestations are more common, or according to local epidemiological situations. This regularity guarantees continuous, effective protection for your dog.

Choosing the right dosage of Frontpro for your dog depends on a number of factors, including your dog's weight and size. Frontpro is an anti-parasite medication for dogs available in several dosages. It is essential to follow the dosage recommendations provided by your veterinarian or indicated on the product packaging.

Frontpro should be administered according to the following table to ensure the target dose of 2.7-7 mg/kg dog weight:

In general, Frontpro is available in dosages such as 0.67 mg, 1.34 mg, 2.68 mg and 4.02 mg per kilogram of body weight. Here are some general tips for choosing the right dosage:

  • Weigh your dog: To determine your dog's weight accurately, use a pet scale or consult your veterinarian for this information.
  • Consult your veterinarian: We recommend that you consult your veterinarian before administering Frontpro to your dog. Your veterinarian can assess your dog's health, medical history and recommend the appropriate dosage based on its weight and specific needs.
  • Follow instructions: Once you have the appropriate dosage recommended by your veterinarian, carefully follow the administration instructions provided with the product. Frontpro is generally applied using a pipette for direct application to the dog's skin.
  • Respect the frequency of administration: Frontpro should often be administered at regular intervals, usually once a month. Be sure to follow the recommended schedule to ensure continued protection against parasites.

Special precautions for use in animals

In the absence of available data, consult a veterinarian before treating puppies under 8 weeks of age and/or dogs weighing less than 2 kg bodyweight.
Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary drug to animals

Contraindications: Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

Overdose and safety

It is important to note that Frontpro is safe for most dogs when administered as recommended. No adverse effects were observed in healthy Beagle puppies over 8 weeks of age, even when treated with five times the maximum recommended dose. However, in the event of accidental overdose, symptoms and emergency procedures should be assessed by a veterinary health professional.
