What is Strantel XL Clément Thékan Dog Vermifuge used for?
This broad-spectrum dewormer combines three powerful active ingredients: Praziquantel, Pyrantel and Fébantel, each targeting a specific type of intestinal parasite in dogs. This combination effectively eliminates nematodes (such as roundworms, whipworms and hookworms) and cestodes (notably tapeworms). This formulation acts on both adult and immature forms, offering enhanced protection against current or future infestations.
Febantel, transformed into fenbendazole and oxfendazole in the body, interrupts the worms' energy metabolism, condemning them to gradual elimination. Pyrantel acts as a muscle paralyzer specific to nematodes, while praziquantel disrupts the tegumentary structure of tapeworms, causing their rapid destruction. Together, these molecules produce a synergistic effect that enhances treatment efficacy, while ensuring a targeted, well-tolerated action.
This oblong yellow tablet, divisible in two, is easy to administer and is suitable for dogs of various sizes, thanks to a precise dosage adjusted to body weight. It meets the needs of dogs living in high-risk environments, in contact with fleas or rodents, potentially carrying parasites such as Dipylidium caninum or Echinococcus spp. Once ingested, the product acts quickly, providing a complete intestinal cleansing without the need for prior fasting.
Using this treatment also helps to reduce the spread of eggs and larvae in the environment, in addition to proper stool removal within 24 hours of administration. This global approach helps to slow down the transmission cycle and protect both the animal and those around it.
Finally, by acting on a wide variety of internal parasites, this dewormer is a strategic choice for owners concerned about their dog's digestive health, general hygiene and intestinal comfort, especially during high-risk periods (spring, autumn or after flea treatment). Simple, one-shot administration guarantees good compliance.

Expert advice
Veterinarians recommend regular deworming of adult dogs, at least every 3 months, especially if they live in high-risk environments (gardens, parks, presence of children or cats). This product is distinguished by its triple anthelmintic action, providing extensive coverage in a single dose. In animal naturopathy, we often recommend combining this type of spot treatment with a liver support cure (e.g. milk thistle or black radish), to facilitate the elimination of parasitic toxins. Several customers report a marked improvement in transit and eating behaviour after administration of the product, testifying to a regained digestive comfort. A growing trend is to complement this type of treatment with natural preventive solutions to boost intestinal immunity.
