When should Gavinium for acid reflux be used?

When heartburn occurs after a heavy meal or while lying down, it often reflects acid reflux into the esophagus. This drinkable suspension acts like a "digestive dressing" on the surface of the gastric contents. It protects the esophageal mucosa against acidic aggression, while providing rapid, targeted relief.

Its action is based on a combination of three complementary active ingredients. Sodium alginate forms a viscous gel on contact with gastric acid, acting like a "floating lid" to prevent acid reflux. Sodium bicarbonate releases carbon dioxide, reinforcing this barrier effect, while calcium carbonate helps neutralize excess acidity.

This mechanical, rather than systemic, mechanism makes it an ideal solution for pyrosis, acid regurgitation or indigestion. Feeling a burning sensation in the chest or an acid taste in the mouth? The product acts directly on the site of the problem to rapidly soothe digestive discomfort without disturbing the body's overall balance.

The product is also useful in special situations such as pregnancy, when gastro-oesophageal reflux is common. Thanks to its well-documented safety profile, it can be used as needed, within the recommended duration of use.

Easy to use as a drinkable suspension in sachet or tablet form, it can be easily integrated into your routine after meals or at bedtime. Its minty aroma provides a pleasant sensation of freshness, reinforcing the perception of immediate relief.

To optimize your digestive comfort, you can also try Gavisconpro Menthe Sans Sucre, which acts on the formation of a reinforced protective gel, prolonging the barrier effect against acid reflux.

Our expert advice on Gavinium for acid reflux

In pharmacy practice, it's a good idea to recommend this type of suspension at the first signs of occasional reflux, particularly after rich or late meals. To reinforce its effectiveness, remember to adapt certain simple habits: avoid lying down immediately after eating, limit acidic or fatty foods, and slightly elevate the head of the bed in case of nocturnal symptoms. This product acts as a one-off solution, but a healthy lifestyle remains an essential lever for lasting digestive comfort.

GLOSSARY (summary)

antacids
A drug that neutralizes the acidity of gastric secretions or blocks the glands responsible for acid secretion.

antibiotics
A substance capable of blocking the multiplication of certain bacteria or killing them. The spectrum of an antibiotic is the set of bacteria on which this product is usually active. Unlike bacteria, viruses are not susceptible to antibiotics. The first antibiotics were extracted from mushroom cultures: penicillium (penicillin), streptomyces (streptomycin). They are currently manufactured by chemical synthesis. Antibiotics are divided into families: penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides, tetracyclines (cyclines), sulphonamides, aminoglycosides, lincosanides, phenicolates, polymyxins, quinolones, imidazoles, etc.
Inappropriate use of antibiotics may lead to the development of resistance: use antibiotics only on medical prescription, adhere to its dosage and duration, do not give or advise another person an antibiotic prescribed for you .

renal failure
Inability of the kidneys to eliminate waste or medicinal substances. Advanced renal insufficiency does not necessarily result in a decrease in the amount of urine excreted. Only a blood test and creatinine dosage may reveal this disease.

dosage
Quantity and distribution of the dose of a drug according to the age, weight and general condition of the patient.

gastroesophageal reflux
Raising the gastric juice in the esophagus and in the back of the throat, favored by the extended position after meals, by leaning forward, by wearing clothes that compress the abdomen. This reflux is sometimes due to a hiatal hernia.

salt
Chemical substance of which the best known is sodium chloride, or table salt. The diet salt does not contain sodium; this is generally replaced by potassium.

sodium
An inorganic substance which can form salts, especially with chlorine (sodium chloride, or table salt).
