When should you use the Biocanina Anti-Itch Collar for Dogs to soothe skin irritations?

Itching in dogs can quickly become uncomfortable. Repeated scratching, restlessness, irritated areas… these signs often indicate sensitive skin. In these situations, an anti-itch collar can provide simple, ongoing support to improve your dog’s skin health on a daily basis.

The principle is based on the gradual release of natural essential oils around the dog’s neck. Like a discreet diffuser worn directly by the dog, the collar releases its active ingredients steadily over several weeks. This continuous release helpssoothe skin irritations and reduce itching without the need for complicated daily application.

Virginia cedar essential oil helps promote skin comfort when the skin is sensitized. It acts much like a plant-based balm that is slowly released, helping to soothe feelings of discomfort. Peppermint essential oil, meanwhile, provides a cool, soothing sensation that helps relieve irritation caused by scratching.

Thanks to this gradual release, the collar provides continuous relief for four weeks. It accompanies the dog throughout its daily life without disrupting its routines. Adjustable and easy to put on, it is suitable for dogs as young as four months old and comes in several sizes to accommodate different body types.

To further soothe the skin when itching is more severe, it may be helpful to use this collar in combination with Douxo S3 Calm leave-in foam, whose skin-soothing action complements the release of essential oils and helps maintain the skin’s balance.

How do you use this anti-itch collar for dogs?

  • Unroll the collar by pulling on the tab as shown in the diagram. Fasten the collar around the pet’s neck by threading the end of the strap through the buckle.
  • Adjust the collar around the neck without tightening it. You should be able to easily fit two fingers between the collar and the pet’s neck to ensure its comfort.

Our expert advice on Biocanina’s Anti-Itch Collar to soothe the skin

If your dog is scratching frequently, also check the condition of its skin and coat. Dry skin, irritation, or an irritating environment can exacerbate discomfort. The collar can be used as a hygiene solution to improve daily skin comfort. Also remember to brush your dog regularly and check for parasites or environmental allergens. A gentle routine with appropriate dermatological care often helps the skin regain a better balance.
