1. WHAT IS LYSORYNX, sorbitol and saccharin-sweetened tablets AND WHERE IS IT USED?
Pharmacotherapeutic class - ATC code: R: Respiratory system
Antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus under the following conditions: temperature 35°C and contact time 15 minutes.
This product contains lysozyme and cetylpyridinium (active ingredients).
It is indicated for adults and children over 6 years of age as an additional local treatment for mild sore throat without fever.
You should consult your doctor if you do not feel any improvement or if you feel worse after 5 days.
2. WHAT DO I HAVE TO KNOW BEFORE TAKING LYSORYNX, sorbitol and saccharin-sweetened chewable tablet?
Never take LYSORYNX, sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin:
- if you are allergic to cetylpyridinium chloride or lysozyme hydrochloride or to any of the other components of this medicine listed in section 6, and if you are allergic to egg).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking LYSORYNX tablets, sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin.
Sore throat
If it occurs :
- fever,
- purulent sputum,
- discomfort when swallowing food, or if the condition worsens or does not improve after 5 days, CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN.
This drug is not recommended for patients with fructose intolerance (a rare hereditary disease).
Children
Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
Other medicines and LYSORYNX, sucking tablet sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin
Do not take several medicines containing antiseptics at the same time.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or may take any other medicines.
LYSORYNX sorbitol and saccharin-sweetened tablets with food and drink

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacistfor advicebefore taking this medicine.
Driving and use of machinery

LYSORYNX saccharin-sorbitol-sweetened tablets contain 1348 mg sorbitol per tablet.
Sorbitol is a source of fructose. If your doctor has informed you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to certain sugars, or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), a rare genetic disorder characterized by the inability to break down fructose, talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medication.
Sorbitol may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and a mild laxative effect.
3. HOW TO TAKE LYSORYNX, sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin?
Always take this medicine exactly as instructed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if in doubt.
Dosage
FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN OVER 6 YEARS OF AGE.
The recommended dose is 3 to 6 tablets a day, on average, to be sucked, left to melt in the mouth and spread evenly throughout the day.
Use in children and adolescents
Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
Method of administration
Oral administration.
Frequency of administration
Suck tablets at least 2 hours apart.
Duration of treatment
The duration of treatment is limited to 5 days.

4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Like all medicines, this drug may cause undesirable effects, but they do not occur systematically in everyone.
- Allergic reactions have been reported with drugs containing lysozyme (active substance).
- Undesirable effects of undetermined frequency (cannot be estimated on the basis of available data): allergic reaction including allergic edema, rash, urticaria.

5. HOW TO CONSERVE LYSORYNX, sweet tooth tablet sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin?
Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Store at temperatures below 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date indicated on the packaging after EXP. The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not use this medicine if you notice any visible signs of deterioration.
Do not dispose of any medicine down the drain or in the household waste. Ask your pharmacist to identify any medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.
6. CONTENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION
What LYSORYNX contains, sweetened with sorbitol and saccharin.
- The active ingredients are :
Cetylpyridinium chloride.............................................................................................. 1.5 mg
Lysozyme hydrochloride.............................................................................................. 20.0 mg
For one sucking tablet.
- Other components are :
Saccharin, magnesium stearate, mint flavour*, sorbitol.
*Composition of mint flavor: peppermint essential oil, gum arabic.
