What is the purpose of Saforelle Menstrual Cups x2?

What if your period became synonymous with serenity, freedom and sustainability? The menstrual cup is a hygienic and responsible alternative to disposable sanitary protection. The Saforelle 12hr Comfort Pack contains 2 medical silicone menstrual cups, tested under gynecological supervision, to guarantee comfortable, safe use during menstruation. Their flexible design and locator stem facilitate gentle positioning.

Unlike disposable pads and tampons, the menstrual cup gently inserts into the vagina to collect menstrual flow without absorbing it. Thanks to its soft, supple design, it hugs the vaginal walls without causing irritation. No discomfort, no odor, and above all, no waste.

Why choose the Saforelle menstrual cup?

  • Soft and comfortable, it adapts to your anatomy and won't irritate the vaginal wall.
  • Discreet and reliable, it limits leakage during your daily activities (including sports).
  • Durable and economical, it can be used for up to 5 years, considerably reducing the amount of periodical waste.
  • Hygienic, it limits odor development without disturbing vaginal pH.
  • Gynaecologically tested: 100% of users find it comfortable.
  • Change every 6 hours maximum: not designed for all-day or overnight wear.

Size 1:

  • Suitable for young girls and women with light to moderate flow
  • Recommended for women who have not had children or who have given birth by Caesarean section

A hygienic alternative to tampons and pads, the Saforelle menstrual cup is designed to gently collect menstrual flow, without drying out the mucous membranes. It is particularly suited to moderate flows, for women of all ages seeking comfort, discretion and convenience during their periods.

Made from biocompatible medical silicone, the Saforelle cup is phthalate- and bisphenol-A-free, and gynecologically tested. It offers reliable hygienic protection for up to 6 hours, without leakage or odor, while respecting the vaginal balance. Its flexible shape adapts perfectly to body movements. The marker pin makes it easy to locate, but should never be used for removal.

We also recommend Les Petites Choses Tampon avec Applicateur Coton Bio, tampons that are good for nature and good for your body.

How do I insert a menstrual cup?

Before each use, it's essential to clean the menstrual cup thoroughly (Between each cycle, sterilize the menstrual cup by immersing it in boiling water (100C°) for 7 minutes). Wash your hands, then relax. Choose a comfortable position: sitting or squatting, whichever feels most natural.

Fold the menstrual cup in one of the recommended ways (C-shaped, S-shaped or punch-down) to facilitate insertion. Hold the cup in one hand, gently spread the lips of the vulva with the other and insert it towards the coccyx. Unlike a tampon, it sits lower in the vagina.

Release the cup: it will naturally open and position itself correctly. You should feel nothing. To remove it, wash your hands again. Sitting or squatting, insert your index finger and thumb to grasp the base or stem. Lightly pinch the base to cancel the suction effect, then gently remove the cup. Do not pull on the stem.

Hold the cup vertically to prevent any leakage, empty its contents into the toilet, then wash it with clear water and mild soap. If no water is available, wipe with toilet paper and use the other cup in the pack.

Precautions for use

  • Never pull on the marker pin: it is only used to locate the cut.
  • Never use two internal protectors at the same time.
  • Don't sleep with a menstrual cup: prefer sanitary towels at night.
  • Do not wear the cup for more than 6 consecutive hours.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use.
  • Before each insertion:
  • Rinse the cup with clean water for 10 seconds.
  • Wash with a mild cleansing gel for 1 minute.
  • Rinse again with clean water for 1 minute
  • Leave to dry on clean paper
  • Between each cycle, sterilize the cup in boiling water for 7 minutes.

Expert advice

As a pharmacy specializing in natural solutions, we encourage you to take a holistic approach to intimate hygiene. The menstrual cup is much more than a simple device: it's part of a conscious approach that respects both the body and the environment. To complement its use, we recommend :

  • Gentle, soap-free cleansing products with a physiological pH to protect intimate flora.
  • Organic cotton undergarments, which are more breathable and less irritating.
  • The use of vaginal probiotics in case of imbalance or fragility.

Finally, to make the most of your cycles, phytotherapy can be used during certain periods: Yarrow or Chaste tree are sometimes recommended to support hormonal balance naturally. Ask your pharmacist or naturopath for advice.
