What is Omacor Omega 3 used for?

After a heart attack, the heart remains vulnerable. Reducing the risk of recurrence therefore becomes a priority. Omacor Omega 3 serves as a complementary treatment during this critical phase, in combination with standard medications. It works to protect the cardiovascular system, support post-heart attack recovery, and maintain lipid balance. Its targeted action addresses a specific medical need: strengthening the heart’s defenses where it needs them most.

People with endogenous hypertriglyceridemia know how difficult it is to normalize blood fat levels despite a strict diet. When dietary efforts are no longer enough, Omacor Omega 3 provides an effective solution. It helps reduce triglyceride levels, even in cases where the body continues to produce them in excess. Thanks to its formula rich in essential fatty acids, it ideally complements conventional treatments such as statins, for a more comprehensive metabolic management.

Cholesterol and triglycerides are not the same. Cholesterol is essential for certain biological functions but becomes problematic in excess, while triglycerides—derived from sugars and alcohol— are directly linked to cardiovascular risks. By specifically targeting triglycerides, Omacor Omega-3 addresses an often-overlooked yet critical factor in cardiovascular disease.

Omacor’s formulation is based on a synergistic combinationof EPA and DHA, two highly bioavailable marine-derived omega-3 fatty acids. These compounds act on cell membranes and inflammatory processes, contributing to overall lipid balance, blood flow, and the prevention of fatty deposits in blood vessels. It is an approach that is both therapeutic and preventive.

Healthcare professionals recognize the value of Omacor for its targeted action, backed by solid clinical evidence. It is part of a long-term strategy to protect the heart, prevent vascular complications, and stabilize lipid levels. It is a trusted solution for those who want to take lasting action to improve their cardiovascular health.

Omacor also offers significant convenience thanks to its practical packaging and simple dosing regimen. It allows users to establish an effective daily routine without disrupting their habits. The soft-gel capsule form makes it easy to take, while the high concentration of omega-3 minimizes the number of capsules needed.

In summary, this supplement is ideal for lowering blood triglycerides, supporting heart health after a heart attack, and improving overall lipid balance. It is suitable for people following a controlled but insufficient diet, or for secondary prevention after a cardiovascular event. It supports a healthcare approach focused on longevity and quality of life.

Expert Advice and Reviews

The use of Omacor Omega 3 is part of a holistic approach to health, in line with current recommendations for heart health. In naturopathy, omega-3s are recognized for their role in regulating chronic inflammation, which often underlies cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, according to a recent meta-analysis, regular supplementation with EPA/DHA significantly reduces the risk of recurrence after a heart attack. Many patients also report better digestive tolerance with Omacor compared to other, less concentrated fish oils. This product perfectly illustrates the convergence between evidence-based medicine and complementary natural approaches.

LEXICON (summary)

anticoagulant
A drug that prevents blood from clotting and prevents clots from forming in the blood vessels.
Anticoagulants are used to treat or prevent phlebitis, pulmonary embolism, certain infarcts. They also help prevent clots in the heart during rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation or in case of artificial heart valve.
There are two main types of anticoagulants:
  • oral anticoagulants, which block the action of vitamin K (antivitamin K, or AVK) and whose effectiveness is controlled by a blood test: the INR (formerly TP);
  • injectable anticoagulants, derived from heparin, the effectiveness of which can be controlled by the blood determination of the anti-Xa activity, the Howell's Time (TH) or the Kaolin Cephalin Time (TCK) according to the products used. Regular dosing of blood platelets is necessary throughout the duration of use of a heparin derivative.

hemorrhage
Loss of blood from an artery or vein. Hemorrhage can be external, but also internal and go unnoticed.

hyperglycemia
Abnormal elevation of blood sugar (blood sugar).

myocardial infarction
Destruction of part of the heart muscle (myocardium), deprived of blood by obstruction of its arteries.

renal failure
Inability of the kidneys to eliminate waste or drug substances. Advanced renal failure does not necessarily result in a decrease in the amount of urine eliminated. Only a blood test and the determination of creatinine can reveal this disease.

transaminases
Enzymes dosed in the blood, the rate of which rises during certain hepatitis. They appear in blood tests under the name of SGOT and SGPT or ASAT and ALAT.

triglycerides
Fats circulating in the blood. They come mainly from the assimilation of fats, sugars and alcohol.
