Our advice and advice from pharmacy experts

How do brown spots occur?

Dark spots , also called age spots, are not directly related to age. They are also called sunspots or solar lentigo and appear in varying sizes on areas of skin exposed to the sun such as the face, hands, décolleté, shoulders and arms. These small spots, generally darker than normal skin, are linked to an excess production of melanin by cells: melanocytes.
There are several types of hyperpigmentation spot:

  • Lentigo
  • Chloasma, melasma or pregnancy mask

Thiamidol acts at the source of hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the production of melanin in the skin. Thus, existing spots disappear and fewer new spots appear. Thiamidol is the key active ingredient in the Eucerin Anti-pigment range. It has been proven by clinical and dermatological studies to reduce dark spots and prevent their reappearance. The first results are visible after two weeks and improve continuously with regular use.
