Mallow, also known by its scientific name Malva sylvestris, is a plant native to Asia and the Mediterranean Basin. In phytotherapy, Mallow is recognized for its gentle action on intestinal transit. Its emollient and soothing properties make it a valuable ingredient for relieving digestive disorders and promoting regular transit. Thanks to its mucilage, Mallow forms a gel in the stomach that helps lubricate intestinal walls, facilitating the passage of stool. This gentle, non-irritating action makes it an ideal choice for those suffering from occasional constipation or mild digestive disorders.
Native to Africa, Tamarind, or Tamarindus indica, is a plant widely used in phytotherapy for its mild laxative properties. Commonly known as the "Indian date tree", Tamarind acts by promoting digestive function and regulating intestinal transit. Thanks to its active compounds, notably organic acids and fibers, Tamarind helps stimulate intestinal contractions and facilitate stool passage. This helps prevent constipation and maintain regular, comfortable intestinal transit.
To complete this combination, Prune andAcacia contribute their specific benefits to intestinal transit. Prunes, from the Prunus domestica tree, are particularly renowned for their high dietary fiber content. These fibers, both soluble and insoluble, act synergistically to promote stool movement in the colon, facilitating elimination and helping to prevent constipation. Acacia, from Acacia senegal, is rich in soluble fiber, which plays an essential role in regulating intestinal transit. By absorbing water and forming a viscous gel in the intestine, Acacia's soluble fibers facilitate digestion and help maintain regular, comfortable transit.

Expert advice
In naturopathy, supporting transit requires a global approach: favouring a diet rich in soluble fibres (legumes, cooked fruit, chia seeds), drinking lukewarm water regularly to promote intestinal motricity, and practising gentle physical activity such as walking or yoga. Plants such as Mallow and Tamarind, included in this supplement, fit perfectly into this strategy, in association with healthy, sustainable lifestyle habits.
