What is Milbetel Dog Deworming Tablet used for?

Milbemycin oxime belongs to the macrocyclic lactone family. It is obtained by fermentation of Streptomyces hygroscopicus var. aureolacrimosus, and has targeted activity against mites, larval and adult nematodes, and Dirofilaria immitis larvae. Its mechanism of action is based on interference with invertebrate neurotransmission. By increasing membrane permeability to chloride ions via glutamate-dependent channels, it causes hyperpolarization of the neuromuscular membrane, leading to flaccid paralysis and rapid, selective death of the parasite.

Praziquantel, an acetylated derivative of pyrazino-isoquinoline, acts on cestodes and trematodes. It modifies membrane permeability to calcium in the parasite, inducing rapid depolarization, intense muscle contractions and alteration of the integument. This process facilitates the elimination of parasites from the gastrointestinal tract, or leads to their destruction.

Biocanina Laboratories' Milbetel Chien combines these two active ingredients to offer a versatile, broad-spectrum dewormer for dogs weighing over 5 kg. It is indicated for the treatment of mixed infestations by cestodes such as Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp. and Echinococcus multilocularis, as well as nematodes such as Ancylostoma tubaeforme and Toxocara cati. This combination also helps prevent heartworm disease when treatment against tapeworms is required.

When you're thinking about taking care of your four-legged friend's intestinal health, don't miss the opportunity to discover our special offer on Biocanina Dog Dewormer at a great price, available in pharmacies, to ensure their daily well-being.

Presented in a box of two tablets, Milbetel Biocanina for Dogs is an effective deworming solution for dogs weighing over 5 kg. It is suitable for the majority of dog breeds found in France, including Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Shepherds, Beagles, Cockers, Huskies and Setters. On the other hand, some small breeds with an adult weight of less than 5 kg require a specially adapted dewormer.

The frequency of administration depends on the animal's lifestyle, environment and parasite risk, particularly when living outdoors or in the presence of young children. It is recommended to follow a deworming schedule in line with veterinary recommendations, and to seek advice from an animal health professional if necessary. Thanks to its meaty flavour, the tablet is generally well accepted by dogs and provides effective protection against roundworms and tapeworms from 5 kg upwards.

We also offer Dolthene liquid dewormer for dogs at the best price in our online pharmacy.

Expert advice:

To effectively protect your dog against internal parasites (intestinal worms) and external parasites (fleas, ticks, mosquitoes), veterinarians recommend regular prevention adapted to your dog's lifestyle. Give your dog a deworming treatment every 1 to 3 months, as recommended by your vet. For external parasites, use antiparasitic pipettes, collars or tablets that last several weeks. Inspect the coat regularly, especially after a walk in a high-risk area. Don't forget to treat the environment (cushions, baskets). Finally, avoid overdosing or mixing products, especially with puppies or fragile dogs. Regularity remains the key to good protection.
