Our brands Bands

Sprains, wounds to protect or dressings to hold in place: some procedures require more than just a bandage. The medical bands available on Soin-et-Nature provide support, fixation or compression, as required. Whether gauze, crepe, cohesive or elastic bandages, each model can be adapted to the situation, providing a secure hold and comfortable use, even on sensitive or moving areas.

Where to buy medical bandages for care, fixation or support?

No one is immune to injury, a blow or a fall. Tape is one of the care products you need in your medicine cabinet. Adhesive tape can be used to fix dressings, depending on the model, but also for compression. The advantage: it adapts to all morphologies, and any type of dressing can be placed on the wound. There are different types of bandage: crepe bandage, stretch bandage, adhesive bandage, cohesive bandage and resin bandage. At Soin et Nature, you'll find a complete range of medical bandages for emergency care, compression and dressing fixation, including gauze, crepe, cohesive and elastic compression bandages.

How to choose your medical bandages?

Discover our full range of bandage products in the Health section of our Soin et Nature organic pharmacy. Each type of medical bandage has a specific use:

  • Gauze bandage : Gauze bandages are recommended for wrapping a wound on which a compress or dressing has been applied, when the use of a plaster is not possible on the skin.
  • Crepe bandage: Crepe bandages are elastic fabric strips used to hold a compress or dressing on a wound to stop bleeding.
  • Cohesive bandage: Cohesive bandages can be used to secure dressings, as well as to provide support in the case of slight joint fractures.
  • Compression bandage: Compression bandages are mainly used to reduce swelling and bruising (sprains, contusions, etc.). They must be applied by qualified personnel, as a certain degree of pressure must be maintained on the limb.

What are medical bandages used for in emergency care?

  • Fixation: Bandages hold dressings in place, guaranteeing their effectiveness even on areas that are mobile or difficult to cover. They also prevent unintentional displacement of medical devices such as catheters or drains.
  • Compression: By exerting controlled pressure on an area, compression bandages help to reduce edema, control bleeding and stimulate blood circulation. This function is particularly useful in the treatment of circulatory disorders or muscular injuries.
  • Immobilization: Rigid or cohesive bandages are used to stabilize a joint or limb in the event of sprains, slight fractures or tendon injuries. They prevent movements that could aggravate the injury.
  • Support: Elastic bands provide light to moderate support for muscles and joints, reducing pain associated with movement. They are frequently used in sports medicine to prevent injury.
  • Protection: By covering wounds or weakened areas, bands create a barrier against external contamination, limiting the risk of infection.

What are the different types of medical bandages and when should they be used?

Fixation bandages

These strips are mainly used to secure dressings or medical devices. They are made from non-elastic, lightweight and often hypoallergenic materials. Their main advantage is their adaptability to sensitive areas or patients with reactive skin.

  • Indications: Superficial wounds, holding compresses or catheters.
  • Example of use: Post-surgical dressing support.

Elastic bands

Elastic bands are stretchable and offer a good fit in areas requiring flexibility and moderate support. They are ideal for joints and mobile areas.

  • Indications: Light sprains, dressing support on mobile areas.
  • Example of use: Joint support during physical activity.

Cohesive bandages

These strips adhere to themselves without the need for additional fixation, making them easy to apply and adjust. Their soft texture is suitable for sensitive areas.

  • Indications: Light immobilization, dressing fixation, support on difficult areas (fingers, ankles).
  • Example of use: Bandaging a wrist after a mild sprain.

Compression bandages

Exert uniform pressure on the affected area, stimulating blood circulation and reducing oedema. They are often used in the treatment of vascular pathologies.

  • Indications: Venous ulcers, varicose veins, management of post-surgical edema.
  • Example of use: Compression of a lower limb to treat venous insufficiency.

Tubular bandages

These stretch tube-shaped bands are easy to put on and provide light support while protecting the affected area.

  • Indications: Support for dressings, protection of irritated areas.
  • Example of use: Protecting a wound on the elbow.

Plaster strips

These plaster- or resin-soaked strips are used to immobilize fractures or stabilize joints after surgery.

  • Indications: Fractures, post-operative immobilization.
  • Example of use: Immobilization of a leg after a tibia fracture.

Thermal bands

These contain materials that diffuse therapeutic heat or cold. They are often reusable and can be adapted to specific treatments.

  • Indications: Reduction of inflammation, relief of muscular pain.
  • Example of use: Soothing muscle contractures.
