Strepsils lozenges are indicated for mild sore throats without fever, as well as for mouth ulcers.

When should Strepsils be taken?

Take between meals. Adults and children over 15: 1 lozenge to be melted slowly in the mouth without chewing, and repeated if necessary after 2 hours, up to a maximum of 8 lozenges a day.

Dosage

For adults and children over 12 years of age.

Take lozenges between meals.

Adults and children over 15 :

1 lozenge to be melted slowly in the mouth without chewing, to be repeated if necessary after 2 hours, not to exceed 8 lozenges per day.

Children aged 12 to 15:

1 lozenge to be melted slowly in the mouth without chewing, to be renewed if necessary after 2 hours, not to exceed 4 lozenges per day.

Duration of treatment

Duration of use is limited to 5 days.

6. How long can I use Strepsils?

7. Can I use Strepsils when I'm pregnant or breast-feeding?
   Strepsils Lidocaine should not be used during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Other Strepsils products should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice before taking any medication.

When should you ask your pharmacist for advice before using Strepsils?

• In the event of fever, discomfort when swallowing or persistence of symptoms after 5 days, consult your doctor. He or she will be able to tell the difference between pharyngitis and angina. In the case of bacterial angina, antibiotic treatment is necessary to avoid subsequent heart or kidney complications.
• prolonged use of local antiseptic treatments (gargles, mouthwashes, lozenges) is not recommended, as it can alter the throat's natural microbial balance.
