Precautions for Use

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: 
In animals, sodium hyaluronate has no effect on fertility or general reproductive capacity. It is neither embryotoxic nor teratogenic and has no effect on perinatal or postnatal development. In both healthy and sick individuals, systemic absorption is very low following topical application. The metabolism of hyaluronic acid administered systemically is comparable to that of endogenous hyaluronic acid. 
Its use therefore does not appear to be contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women. 
Adverse effects: 
Skin effects: a few rare cases of pruritus-type sensitization have been reported.
