ISDIN Salicylic Renewal is a serum from the Isdinceutics line designed for combination to oily skin. It features a 12% exfoliating complex that combines four partially neutralized acids, equivalent to 7.41% free acids: glycolic acid and lactic acid, two alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs); salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA); and gluconolactone, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA). The formula also contains hyaluronic acid, aloe vera leaf juice, carob extract, and lemon myrtle leaf extract, in a lightweight texture that absorbs quickly.
Each family of acids works in its own way. AHAs loosen the bonds that hold dead skin cells to the skin’s surface; gluconolactone does the same more gradually due to its larger molecule; while salicylic acid, which is fat-soluble, penetrates the sebum that clogs pores. The serum exfoliates the skin and minimizes the appearance of pores, resulting in a smoother skin texture.
This combination gives it a dual action against blemishes and wrinkles.
