When should you take Neuroboost Focus+ for memory?

Neuroboost Focus+ is a dietary supplement in tablet form that combines five herbs—bacopa, ginkgo, rhodiola, centella asiatica, and Lion’s Mane—along with caffeine, glucuronolactone, magnesium, zinc, and six B vitamins. Three bud extracts (blackcurrant, oak, and olive) and a very small amount of rosemary essential oil round out the formula. It joins our selection of dietary supplements for memory as the most comprehensive option: herbs, nutrients, and caffeine all in a single tablet.

Bacopa, a plant used in Ayurvedic tradition, helps support mental performance; it also helps promote concentration. Ginkgo supports healthy memory, and Centella asiatica helps maintain healthy cognitive function. Lion’s Mane, or Herringbone Mushroom, is an edible mushroom that has long been consumed in Asia; it is included here in the form of carpophore powder.

Rhodiola helps the body adapt to emotional stress. In terms of nutrients, vitamins B1, B3, B6, B12, and magnesium contribute to the normal functioning of the nervous system and normal psychological functions. Zinc supports normal cognitive function, vitamin B5 supports normal intellectual performance, and vitamins B3, B6, B9, B12, and magnesium help reduce fatigue.

Neuroboost Focus+ is designed for adults going through periods of intense mental demand: finishing a project, preparing for an exam, getting back into the swing of things after a break, or weeks when the workload piles up. Caffeine is combined with glucuronolactone—a substance the body naturally produces from glucose—and Lion’s Mane mushroom in what the laboratory calls its Neurocomplex blend.

The brain is one of the organs richest in lipids, and this formula contains none. For this reason, we recommend Santé-Verte’s DHA-rich omega-3 capsules: DHA helps maintain normal brain function, an effect achieved by consuming 250 mg of DHA daily. The tablets provide herbs and vitamins, while the capsules provide the fatty acid that is a component of neuronal cell membranes.

  • Contains caffeine (75 mg per 2 tablets): not recommended for people sensitive to caffeine. Be mindful of other sources of caffeine throughout the day—coffee, tea, cola sodas, energy drinks, and supplements containing guarana or mate. For adults, total daily intake should not exceed 400 mg, nor should a single dose exceed 200 mg.
  • Not recommended for individuals taking antidepressants, those with epilepsy, those scheduled for an invasive medical procedure, those with heart conditions, those with heart or kidney failure accompanied by edema, those with biliary obstruction, or those with other biliary dysfunction. Before surgery or invasive dental procedures, stop taking this product several days in advance and inform your healthcare provider.

  • Allow at least 2 hours between taking this supplement and antibiotics from the cycline or quinolone families, bisphosphonates, and thyroid hormones: magnesium and zinc may reduce their absorption.
  • Do not use for prolonged periods (maximum 14 days). After that, take a break before resuming use.
  • Do not combine with any other dietary supplement containing bacopa, ginkgo, rhodiola, centella asiatica, caffeine, magnesium, zinc, or B vitamins without consulting a healthcare professional.

Our expert advice on Neuroboost Focus+ for concentration

The most important thing to consider before taking your first dose is your daily caffeine intake. This tablet isn’t like a beverage: you can stick to your usual three cups of coffee, add a cup of tea in the afternoon, and the total caffeine intake adds up without you even noticing. At the counter, we start by counting the cups before we even talk about memory.

We reserve it for a specific occasion—an exam, a deadline, a busy period—rather than for everyday use. A decline in concentration is often due to sleep debt, skipped meals, or days without breaks, and no supplement can make up for those three factors. If the problem persists after the deadline has passed, that’s a sign to talk to your doctor.

FAQ

Can I take Neuroboost Focus+ only on the day of an exam?

That is not its intended use. The herbs in the formula are meant to be taken daily throughout the course of treatment; if taken on just one day, the formula primarily provides caffeine. A caffeinated product you’ve never tried before isn’t the best choice for an exam day either: you should test your tolerance for it beforehand, on a regular day.

Can Neuroboost Focus+ keep me from sleeping?

It’s possible for sensitive individuals. Caffeine remains active for several hours: its half-life averages 3 to 5 hours in adults, and it’s prolonged when taking oral contraceptives. Taking it in the early afternoon can therefore already delay falling asleep.

Does Neuroboost Focus+ contain as much caffeine as a cup of coffee?

Roughly. The daily dose is equivalent to an espresso, which contains about 80 mg, and is slightly less than a 200-ml cup of filter coffee, which contains about 90 mg.

The role of anxiety in memory impairment The role of anxiety in memory impairment

Anxiety is thought to play a role in memory by mobilising part of a person's attentional resources. People suffering from anxiety have to process both relevant information and anxiety-related information, which requires greater attentional effort. As a result, anxious subjects perform less well when the tests contain a large amount of information. This is the case, for example, with highly…
