What is Trimebutine 100 mg Biogaran Conseil used for?

If you suffer from spasmodic intestinal pain, you know how debilitating and disruptive it can be. These abdominal pains, often accompanied by painful cramps, can have a significant impact on your quality of life. That's where Biogaran Trimebutine 100 mg comes in to provide welcome relief.

What is Trimebutine?

Trimébutine, from the Biogaran laboratory, is a generic of Débridat, specially designed for the treatment of spasmodic intestinal pain in adults. It comes in the form of tablets in a box of 20. But before explaining in detail how this medicine can help you, let's start by understanding what a stomachache really is.

Why do we suffer from stomach ache?

Abdominal pain is a common symptom, but it can have many different origins. It can result from a gastrointestinal, renal, liver, genital or even cardiac problem. They can also be triggered by digestive disorders or gastrointestinal infections, which, in principle, are temporary.

However, many people regularly suffer from stomach pains with no known cause. This is known as Functional Bowel Disorder, a recurrent condition sometimes referred to as colitis. The good news is that these functional intestinal disorders, although unpleasant, generally do not worsen or lead to major complications.

How can I manage stomach ache?

How can we better manage these stomach aches, especially when their origin remains mysterious? Here are a few practical tips that can make a big difference:

Eat Healthily and Carefully:

  • Take the time to eat slowly and calmly, chewing your food well to avoid swallowing air.
  • If you're prone to bloating, limit your intake of foods such as onions, cabbage, sauerkraut, beans, lentils, radishes, horseradish, leeks, stone fruits (like apricots), bran, and artificial sweeteners. Try to identify the products that cause you the most flatulence, so that you can eliminate them or reduce their proportion in your diet.
  • Eat three meals a day, paying particular attention to breakfast, which should last at least 15 minutes.
  • Regularly drink at least one liter of water a day, spread throughout the day. Constipation can lead to an unpleasant feeling of heaviness, cramps in the belly or pain when defecating.

Exercise:

  • Regular exercise can promote a healthy digestive system. Don't forget to drink during and after exercise to maintain good hydration.

Use Antispasmodic Medication:

When to consult a healthcare professional

However, it is essential to know when it is necessary to consult a healthcare professional. If your abdominal pain shows no improvement after 3 to 4 days of treatment, or if you present alarming symptoms such as high fever, stabbing pain or blood in the stool, it's imperative to seek medical advice.

Don't hesitate to ask your pharmacist for further information on managing abdominal pain and on the use of medicines like Biogaran Trimebutine 100 mg. They're here to help you find the best approach for your intestinal well-being.

Health education advice

a) What is abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain has many different origins, and can cause very painful and disturbing problems. It can be the result of gastrointestinal, renal, hepatic, genital or even cardiac problems.

Pain caused by digestive disorders or gastrointestinal infections is usually temporary.

Many people regularly suffer from stomach pains with no known cause. These are known as functional intestinal disorders. This recurrent condition, sometimes referred to as "colitis", generally does not worsen or lead to complications.

b) Some practical advice:

If your tummy aches are due to an inadequate or excessively fatty diet, adopt a more easily digestible diet. To limit the onset of symptoms, observe the following rules of hygiene wherever possible:

- Eat slowly and calmly, chewing well to avoid swallowing too much air;

- If you tend to suffer from bloating, limit the intake of foods such as onions, cabbage and sauerkraut, beans, lentils, radishes, horseradish, leeks, stone fruits (e.g. apricots), bran and artificial sweeteners. Try to identify the products that cause you the most flatulence, so that you can eliminate them systematically or restrict their proportion;

- Eat three meals a day, without neglecting breakfast, which should take at least 15 minutes;

- Drink at least one liter of water a day, spread throughout the day.

Constipation can lead to an unpleasant feeling of heaviness, stomach cramps or pain when defecating. To prevent constipation, observe the following hygienic and dietary rules wherever possible:

- Drink at least one to two liters of liquid a day (water, fruit juice, soup). Don't drink too much coffee, tea or soft drinks;

- Enrich your diet with fiber (fruit, vegetables, wholegrain cereals, nuts, prunes);

- Exercise, without forgetting to drink during and after exercise.

When pain in the abdomen is due to spasms of the digestive tract, it can be relieved with antispasmodic medication.

If symptoms do not improve after 3-4 days of treatment, and/or if you notice a high fever, stabbing pain or blood in your stools, you should consult a doctor.
