The product has no residual activity. In other words, its duration of action is immediate, which explains why this veterinary medicine is not indicated for the prevention of flea infestations, but only for rapid treatment. To prevent flea re-infestation, we recommend combining it with a repellent collar or the application of a Frontline-type pipette (spot-on) which eliminates immature flea stages. Your vet can draw up an appropriate treatment program.

Precautions for use
The fact that there are no longer any live fleas in the animal's coat does not necessarily mean that there are none left. In the presence of a limited number of fleas, they may be difficult to see.
During the first hour after administration, the host animal may experience more intense itching. This is due to the fleas' reaction to the product.
In very rare cases, cats may experience transient signs of hyperactivity.
Nitenpyram may be administered to pregnant or lactating females.
Studies on laboratory animals (rats and rabbits) have shown no evidence of teratogenic or fetotoxic effects. The product's safety has been demonstrated in pregnant and nursing cats and bitches.
