VICKS VAPORUB Cold inhalation POT 50G

Vicks VapoRub Ointment used as a decongestant, especially during colds .
Composed of camphor , turpentine essential oil, levomenthol , eucalyptus essential oil and thymol , VICKS VapoRub ointment quickly clears the airways and allows you to breathe better . In small massages on the chest or neck1, or inhalation, it effectively relieves the symptoms of colds1.

Description of VICKS VAPORUB Cold inhalation POT 50G

VICKS Vaporub ointment is a drug used as a decongestant during common respiratory conditions (colds, coughs, simple bronchitis). Please note VICKS Vaporub ointment is a MEDICINE NOT SUBJECT TO MEDICAL PRESCRIPTION (without prescription).
Composed of essential oil of eucalyptus, camphor, levomenthol, essential oil of turpentine, and thymol, the ointment frees the congested respiratory tract by dermal route or by inhalation.
Read the instructions carefully before using this medicine.

Directions for use and dosage

RESERVED FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY.
TO OPEN THE SAFETY CAP, PRESS AND TURN AT THE SAME TIME according to the drawing engraved on the cap.

• For skin application: this medication is reserved for adults and children over 6 years of age.
• Apply the value of a teaspoon once or twice a day on the chest or on the neck, preferably after washing.
• Never exceed 2 applications per day.
• Wash hands thoroughly after application.

How to use VICKS VAPORUB 50G ointment on the skin

• Fill the teaspoon with broth ointment.
• Return it to the inside of the jar and remove the excess ointment if necessary by scraping the teaspoon on the edge of the jar to get the right dose.
• Apply with fingers.
• Wash the spoon thoroughly after use.
• Wash hands thoroughly after use.
• Leave your clothes loose at the application site to allow good distribution of the product.
• Never apply a dressing or bandage to the application site. Never cover the application site with warm clothing or any other source of heat.

In fumigation inhalation of VICKS VAPORUB 50G: this medication is reserved for adults and children over 12 years of age.
1 to 3 times a day, melt the volume of 1 to 2 teaspoons in a bowl of hot water (be careful not to use boiled (boiling) water) and inhale the vapors through your nose and mouth.

Preparation for fumigation (inhalation with an inhaler) of VICKS VAPORUB 50G

• Pour very hot water (be careful not to use boiling (boiling) water) in a bowl or in an inhaler.

This ointment contains terpenes , with an antiseptic aim of the respiratory tract. Applied to the skin, they have a decongestant revulsive effect.
It is used to facilitate breathing during respiratory affections, with or without coughing.

CONTRAINDICATIONS ^(summary)

This medication should not be used in the following cases:

• in application to an injured skin (wound, eczema ),

WARNING ^(Contents)

This ointment contains volatile flammable substances: after application, avoid placing yourself near a flame or incandescent object (cigarette).
Drugs containing terpenes (camphor, levomenthol) can, in very rare cases, cause serious accidents in young children ( seizures , consciousness, respiratory arrest). They are therefore contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.
The risk of accidents due to terpenes is increased:

• during repeated or extended applications (do not apply at the same time to the back and chest),
  
• when the skin is damaged (burn, wound, eczema ...).
  

If there is no improvement after 3 days, consult a doctor if you develop a fever.

The ointment can be used either on the chest or neck or inhaled after dissolving in a bowl of warm water.

Usual dosage:

In dermal application:

• Adult and child over 6 years: apply 1 teaspoon of ointment, 1 or 2 times a day.
  

Inhalation:

• Adult and child over 12 years: 1 or 2 teaspoons of ointment in a bowl of warm water, 1 to 3 times a day.
