When should Biocanina Motion Sickness tablets for Cats and Dogs be used?
Motion sickness frequently affects young dogs and cats, as their vestibular system, located in the inner ear and involved in balance, has not yet fully matured. In some animals, however, this sensitivity may persist into adulthood.
In addition to physiological causes, travel-related nausea can also be promoted by stress or a bad association with car journeys. An animal that has undergone an unpleasant experience during a journey may develop signs of anxiety even before departure: panting, restlessness, moaning, hypersalivation or vomiting.
This veterinary medicine is indicated for the treatment of motion sickness and vomiting in dogs and cats. Its active ingredient, dimenhydrinate, belongs to the H1 antihistamine family. It acts on the nerve centers involved in the vomiting reflex, helping to limit the nausea and vomiting associated with travel.
Thanks to its antiemetic action, it helps pets cope better with travel by car, train, plane or boat. Its mild sedative effect can also promote calmer behavior during the journey, reducing the stress associated with transport.
Administered around 30 minutes before departure, the tablets can be used to manage travel-related problems. They can be given directly into the animal's mouth, or mixed with a small amount of food. Dosage should be adapted to the animal's weight.
This solution is suitable for both dogs and cats, simplifying travel management for multi-pet households. Its use is reserved for animals aged over 4 months and weighing at least 2.5 kg.
To optimize its effectiveness, it is recommended not to feed your pet too much just before the trip, and to prefer a small ration a few hours before departure.

Expert advice
Preparing for a trip is important for your pet too. To limit motion sickness, gradually accustom your dog or cat to travel from an early age. Avoid heavy meals before departure, and ensure a calm atmosphere in the vehicle. A stable crate, a pleasant temperature and regular breaks will also contribute to your pet's comfort. If your pet suffers from nausea, vomiting or signs of stress during travel, a suitable treatment can improve its well-being during the journey. A relaxed animal generally travels in better conditions.
