ONYTEC varnish onychomycosis

Onychomycosis, also known as nail fungus, is a parasitic nail condition caused by microscopic fungi. These will live at the expense of the nails and feed on the keratin that constitutes them. Among all the nails, those are especially those of the feet, including in particular those of the little toe, which are most often affected.
In terms of its prevalence, nail fungus appears to be much less common in children. It affects approximately 5% of the adult population. But among septuagenarians, the infection is very common, affecting more than 30% of subjects in this age group.

For warnings, precautions for use and contraindications, please consult the instructions for use of ONYTEC varnish onychomycosis.

Description of ONYTEC varnish onychomycosis

ONY TEC 80 mg / g nail polish is an antifungal with significant activity (broad spectrum antimycotic agent), used locally on the fingernails or toenails and on the skin just adjacent.

Indication of ONYTEC nail fungus varnish

ONY TEC nail polish 80 mg / g is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate nail fungus (onychomycosis) caused by filamentous fungi and / or other fungi which can be cured by ciclopirox.
The active substance, ciclopirox , stops and destroys the fungi. This results in an improvement in the appearance of your nails .

Directions for use and dosage of ONYTEC varnish

You should always use ONYTEC 80 mg / g, nail polish exactly as indicated in this leaflet. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Method of administration of Onytec

  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, ONYTEC 80 mg / g, nail polish should be applied in a thin layer, once a day, on the infected nail (s).
  • For this, the nails must be clean and dry.
  • The medicated nail polish should be applied to the entire surface of the nail and to the 5 mm of adjacent skin.
  • If possible, ONYTEC 80 mg / g, nail polish should be applied under the free edge of the nail.
  • Allow ONYTEC 80 mg / g to dry, nail polish for around 30 seconds.

Frequency of administration of Onytec

  • The nail (s) should not be cleaned for at least 6 hours and it is therefore recommended to apply the application in the evening before bedtime.

  • Sometimes due to insufficient washing of the nails, a white layer may appear on the surface of the nails after a few days of treatment. Thorough washing with neutral soap and if necessary with a nail brush or sponge will help remove it.

Duration of Onytec treatment

Treatment should be continued until the problem subsides, so until the nail or nails are free or practically free of any lesions and / or healthy nails have grown back. The complete healing of the fingernails is normally achieved in about six months, that of the toenails in 9 to 12 months.
