Xeracalm AD is a balm from the Avène dermatological laboratory, which nourishes very dry skin and soothes itching sensations in infants, children and adults. AVENE, a specialist in dermatology, offers its XeraCalm lipid-replenishing balm to help treat dry skin. It moisturizes the skin and helps cells retain water, ensuring permanent hydration.

What is Avene Xeracalm AD Balm used for?

Avene Xeracalm AD is a balm that nourishes very dry skin and soothes itching sensations in infants, children and adults.

Dry skin is the result of a drop in the fatty substance, sebum, produced by the skin's lipid layer. Sebum creates a physical barrier whose role is to keep the skin hydrated. However, this natural barrier is weakened in dry skin and cannot prevent significant water loss, leading to skin dehydration. This lack of sebum combined with water loss creates dry, dehydrated skin.

Xeracalm balm is specially formulated to moisturize, nourish and soothe dry to very dry skin.

Avène specializes in dermatology, and offers its XeraCalm relipidant balm to help treat dry skin. It moisturizes the skin and helps cells retain water, so that hydration is permanent. This balm reduces imperfections on the epidermis, leaving a smooth, soft surface. With its soothing properties, this product helps heal irritation and rapidly relieves itching caused by external factors.

XeraCalm A.D. Relief Balm provides a feeling of well-being and freshness. It promotes secretion of the hydrolipidic film, reinforcing the skin's natural defenses. Its use is ideal for treating skin prone to allergic reactions and very dry skin by nature.

What are the indications for this balm?

Deep nutrition and itch relief

Avene Xeracalm AD Balm represents a significant advance in the care of very dry, irritated skin. Designed to intensely nourish the skin, this balm also soothes itching sensations, often associated with skin conditions such as eczema or atopic dermatitis. It is formulated to meet the specific needs of infants, children and adults, ensuring safe and effective use for the whole family.

Key ingredients and their benefits

This balm incorporates a combination of targeted active ingredients to maximize its effectiveness:

  • I-Modulia: An innovative complex developed after several years of research by Avène laboratories. This revolutionary component helps reduce itching and irritation, while stimulating the skin's natural defenses for better protection against external aggressors.
  • Cer-Omega: Lipids derived from plant oils and Galien cerate, similar to the skin's natural lipids. They play a crucial role in rebuilding the cutaneous barrier and restoring the skin's natural moisture, contributing to its softness and suppleness.
  • Avène Thermal Spring Water: A signature ingredient of Avène products, it provides well-known soothing and anti-irritating properties. This unique water calms the skin and reduces sensations of discomfort, offering immediate and long-lasting relief.

Comfortable texture and easy application

The rich but non-greasy texture of Xeracalm AD Balm makes it easy to apply and absorb, without leaving any unpleasant residue. This makes the balm particularly pleasant to use, providing immediate comfort to the skin. Its fragrance-free formulation, developed to minimize the risk of allergies, makes it suitable for even the most sensitive skin, including that of infants.

Dermatologically tested, Avene Xeracalm AD Baume is proven effective in relieving the symptoms of dry skin, including itching and irritation. Its hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic formula ensures optimum tolerance for all skin types, including the fragile skin of children and babies.
