When should you take these active forms of vitamins B12, B6, and B9?
Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9 (Active Forms) is a dietary supplement developed by Vitall+, a family-owned French laboratory based in the Sarthe region. Each vegetarian capsule combines three B vitamins: vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and vitamin B9, provided in their coenzyme forms.
Vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and folate (vitamin B9) help reduce fatigue. Vitamins B12 and B6 contribute to normal energy metabolism. This supplement is therefore a good fit alongside other dietary supplements designed to boost energy and vitality, especially during times when you’re feeling tired.
All three vitamins support the normal functioning of the immune system. They also support normal homocysteine metabolism. Vitamins B12 and B6 further support the normal formation of red blood cells, while folate supports normal blood formation.
Vitamin B12 is found exclusively in foods of animal origin. This certified vegan formula, in a plant-based capsule, is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
A plant-based diet also provides iron from plant sources, which is less easily absorbed than iron from meat. For this reason, we recommend Solgar Gentle Iron, available in vegetarian capsules and free of vitamin B: it complements this formula without doubling the intake.
What are the active ingredients in Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9?
Vitamin B12 is provided in the form of methylcobalamin. It is one of the two coenzymatic forms of vitamin B12, along with adenosylcobalamin. Like all cobalamins, it contains a cobalt atom, hence its name.
Vitamin B6 is provided in the form of pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the coenzyme form of vitamin B6. Vitamins B6 and B12 contribute to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Vitamin B9 is provided in the form of Quatrefolic®, a glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate: this is the form of folate that circulates in the blood. Folate, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12 contribute to normal psychological function.
Acacia gum, an exudate from the Senegal acacia tree, serves as a bulking agent. The capsule shell is made of hypromellose, a plant-based cellulose derivative.
Taking the capsule with the same meal every day—for example, at breakfast—helps ensure you don’t forget.

Our Expert Advice on Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9
Before taking your first capsule, check what you’re already taking. B vitamins are found in many products on the shelves: multivitamins, magnesium combined with vitamin B6, brewer’s yeast, and energy drinks. Vitamin B6 is the key factor here: the warning about potential accumulation should be read first.
In a vegan diet, vitamin B12 isn’t taken as a short-term “cure” lasting just a few weeks: since the diet doesn’t provide it, intake must be maintained over the long term. Fatigue that sets in despite regular intake isn’t resolved by taking yet another vitamin. Talk to your doctor, who can order tests to measure your vitamin B12 and folate levels.
FAQ
Is the 20,000% of the NRV for vitamin B12 in Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, B9 too much?
This percentage may seem impressive, but the body absorbs only a small fraction of a high oral dose of vitamin B12. The EFSA has not set an upper safety limit for this vitamin, as no adverse effects have been established at the doses studied. The main concern with this formula relates to vitamin B6.
I’m a vegetarian and I eat eggs and cheese: do I need Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9?
Eggs and dairy products provide vitamin B12, in amounts that vary depending on consumption. For a vegan diet, which excludes all animal products, vitamin B12 supplementation is recommended. For a vegetarian diet, the need depends on the amounts consumed: a doctor or pharmacist can help assess this.
Methylcobalamin or cyanocobalamin: Which form of B12 does Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9 contain?
This supplement contains methylcobalamin. Cyanocobalamin, the most common form found in supplements, is a stable form that the body converts into coenzymatic forms. Methylcobalamin is one of these coenzymatic forms itself.
What is the difference between Quatrefolic® in Vitall+ Vitamins B12, B6, and B9 and folic acid?
Folic acid is a synthetic form of vitamin B9 that the body must convert through several steps before it can be used. Quatrefolic® directly provides 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, the form of folate found in the blood. Both are sources of vitamin B9.
