What is Viatris Mouthwash Chlorhexidine/Chlorobutanol 90ml used for?

Viatris Bain De Mouth Chlorhexidine/Chlorobutanol 90ml mouthwash is an oral antiseptic used to prevent or treat infections of the mouth , such as gingivitis, stomatitis or periodontitis. It is particularly effective in eliminating bacteria responsible for dental plaque and reducing inflammation of the gums. In addition, mouthwash is recommended for daily use in addition to brushing your teeth . It can also be used before and after dental procedures to prevent infections.

How to properly use this mouthwash solution?

This mouthwash is reserved for adults and children over 6 years old . It is used locally as a mouthwash and should not be swallowed . For normal use, the recommended dosage is 10 to 15 ml of solution, twice a day, diluted in lukewarm water to the upper line of the measuring cup. If necessary, the dosage can be increased to 3 times a day, but the maximum dose should not exceed 20 ml (to be diluted) per dose. Before each use, it is recommended to brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water. For the single-dose bottle, simply dilute the contents of the bottle in half a glass of water and perform the mouthwash. The duration of treatment can be 2 weeks in the case of gingival inflammation and periodontitis, but it is important not to extend the duration of treatment beyond 2 weeks without medical advice.

• Prolonged use of this mouthwash may cause staining of teeth, fillings and dentures. This solution contains an azo coloring agent (E124) which may cause allergic reactions. It is important not to use other antiseptics simultaneously or successively given the possible interference. During pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication. This mouthwash solution contains alcohol and cochineal red A (E124), which are excipients with a known effect.
