The drug Dicynone 500 mg is a vascular protector and an antihemorrhagic .
It is generally indicated in venous circulation disorders linked to the fragility of small blood vessels, in venous circulation disorders (heavy legs, pain, cramps), in certain visual disorders of circulatory origin, during bleeding gynecological due to the fragility of the blood vessels.
The average dosage of this drug is 3 tablets per day.

What are the precautions for use ?
Dicyone should not be consumed in case of intolerance or allergy to etamsylate and / or any of the other elements of this drug.
It contains wheat starch, so it is contraindicated in case of gluten intolerance or allergy.
This medicine contains sulphites which may cause a generalized allergic reaction.
The treatment must be stopped if a fever occurs and you must quickly consult your doctor.
Before taking this medication, a medical consultation is required for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
You must notify your doctor or pharmacist of any treatment taken at the same time, even if you obtained it without a prescription.

1. WHAT IS DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

This drug is an antihaemorrhagic and vasculoprotective agent.
It is used in the symptomatic treatment of functional disorders associated with fragility of small blood vessels and in gynaecological bleeding.
2. WHAT DO I HAVE TO KNOW BEFORE USING DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet?
Never use DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet:
- If you are allergic to etamsylate or any of the other ingredients of this product, as listed in section 6.
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to wheat due to the presence of wheat starch.
Warnings and precautions
- If you develop a fever or skin reaction, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor immediately.
- This drug is generally not recommended in cases of blood disorders affecting hemoglobin (acute porphyria).
- Blood tests: tell your doctor if you are taking DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet and need to have a blood test, as this drug may cause your blood creatinine level to be lower than usual.
- Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are going to undergo medical examinations: during treatment with detamsylate, the sample (e.g. blood test) required for laboratory tests should be taken before the first daily administration of the drug in order to minimize any potential interaction of detamsylate with laboratory tests.
If discomfort does not subside within two weeks, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
If discomfort increases, or if the fragility of the vessels (bruises and ecchymosis) spreads, consult your doctor immediately.
This treatment will be more effective if you observe the following lifestyle recommendations:
- Avoid exposure to the sun, heat, prolonged standing and excess weight.
- Prefer walking and, if necessary, wearing suitable stockings; this helps blood circulation.

Data on the use of DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet in pregnant women are limited. As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid using DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet during pregnancy.
Breast-feeding is not recommended during treatment.

DICYNONE 500 mg, tablet contains wheat starch and sodium sulfite.
This medicine contains very little gluten (from wheat starch). It is considered "gluten-free" and is therefore unlikely to cause problems in the case of celiac disease. One tablet contains no more than 8 micrograms of gluten. If you have a wheat allergy (other than to cowslip), you should not take this medicine.
This medicine contains "sulfite" and may, in rare cases, cause severe hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm.
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, i.e. it is essentially "sodium-free".

4. WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,
- eruptions of pimples and/or patches on the skin,
- fever,
- headaches,
- severe decrease in the number of white blood cells (agranulocytosis)
- decrease in the number of white blood cells (neutropenia)
- allergic reactions, ranging from a rash of pimples and/or patches on the skin to a more severe reaction (anaphylactic shock) with malaise and a significant drop in blood pressure and/or breathing difficulties (bronchospasm).

Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiration date indicated on the packaging. The expiration date refers to the last day of that month.
