What is Nat & Form Alfalfa used for?

Alfalfa, also known aslucerne, isa unique, nutritionally complete food that was known in ancient Arab civilizations as “the father of all foods.” It was cultivated 9,000 years ago on the Caucasus Plateaus. Nat & Form Original Alfalfa is a dietary supplement made from alfalfa.

This dietary supplement promotes general stimulation of the body as well as its remineralization. These capsules are ideal for skin, nail, and hair care, effectively enhancing your natural beauty.

Alfalfa is traditionally used as a general stimulant due to its high content of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Known as luzerne, alfalfa is a nutritionally rich plant. A source of protein, amino acids, minerals, and numerous trace elements, it possesses antioxidant properties. Ideal for skin, nail, and hair care, it effectively enhances your natural beauty. Alfalfa is an excellent general tonic. Its remineralizing effects help address issues such as brittle nails and dull, split, or brittle hair, as well as asthenia (general fatigue).

Alfalfa is primarily valued for its high content of minerals and trace elements: calcium, silica, iron, phosphorus, as well as copper, zinc, and selenium. These components make it a valuable aid in combating asthenia (generalized fatigue) and anemia. For several years now, it has also been recognized for its vitamin K content and its anti-hemorrhagic effect.

Regular consumption of alfalfa may help prevent high cholesterol and atherosclerosis. Alfalfa also contains a plant-based estrogen called cournestrol. The hormonal action of cournestrol, combined with the calcium and silica present in alfalfa, offers a promising avenue for addressing menopause-related symptoms and preventing osteoporosis.

The AFSSA (French Food Safety Agency) considers alfalfa to be a plant with estrogenic activity both in vitro and in vivo due to the presence of coumestanes. In fact, coumestrol and 4-methoxycoumestrol bind to estrogen receptors and exhibit uterotrophic activity.

A study conducted on monkeys shows that alfalfa saponins:

  • significantly reduce intestinal cholesterol absorption and the ratio of total plasma cholesterol to HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol
  • increase the fecal excretion of steroids and bile acids. Alfalfa prevents the oxidation of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) in vivo through the synergistic action of flavonoids and phytoestrogens.

Alfalfa is traditionally used in the treatment of diabetes. This effect has been demonstrated in vivo in diabetic mouse models. In particular, alfalfa is thought to stimulate the incorporation of glucose as glycogen into abdominal muscle and is believed to possess properties similar to those of insulin.

Expert Advice and Reviews

Experts recommend using alfalfa to naturally support vitality, especially when the body shows signs of fatigue or mild nutrient deficiencies. This plant, rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, helps boost overall energy and improve digestive comfort thanks to its fiber content. It is advisable to start with a gradually increasing dose to assess individual tolerance and to avoid use in cases of hormone-dependent conditions, due to its high phytoestrogen content. Individuals on anticoagulant therapy should seek medical advice. Regular use optimizes nutritional and energy benefits.
