How it works: KEAT Men uses electrostimulation to retrain the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding muscle structures via a probe inserted into the anus. The muscle contractions produced by this stimulation—depending on the program selected based on the type of incontinence—help improve urethral closure through direct or reflex contraction of the urethral muscles (stress incontinence) or to reduce bladder contractions (urge incontinence).
The duration of treatment is determined by your doctor. Generally, treatment lasts 2 months, with one 30-minute session every 2 days. The treatment will be all the more effective if performed regularly.

KEAT Men should not be used if you: have a pacemaker; use of a sacral nerve stimulator; genitourinary or colorectal cancer (following a radical prostatectomy, it is therefore advisable to wait for the results of the first postoperative PSA test before prescribing KEAT Men®); vesicoureteral reflux; urinary retention; dysuria; urinary or colorectal infection, or any symptom suggestive of infection (itching, burning, pain during urination, or fever); anatomical changes in the anal sphincter that make catheter insertion difficult or impossible; abnormal bleeding or hemorrhage; known sensitivity or allergy to methacrylate (a component of the plastic); if used by a woman, pregnancy is a contraindication; while operating motor vehicles or machine tools.
